A little shoutout to two of my flower helpers, Emma and Karen! 🌸

These two have been such a huge help at North Shore Flower Co. this season, from processing buckets of flowers to helping get everything ready for markets and orders.

One thing I’ve learned as the flower farm has grown is the importance of asking for help. It’s easy to think you need to do everything yourself, especially when it’s your own little business. But there’s only so much time in a day, and growing something doesn’t have to mean doing more and more on your own.

Having good people willing to jump in has allowed me to take on more, keep expanding, and find a little more balance along the way.

I’m so grateful for the time, energy, and care these two have put into helping bring my flower plans to life this season.

Market mornings are basically a game of Tetris these days. 😂💐

Flowers, pumpkins, buckets, market supplies… somehow we managed to squeeze it all in!

I think it’s safe to say we’ve officially outgrown the car. Might be time to start looking at something a little bigger for next flower season!

It’s market morning in Tata! 🌸🍂

We’re all set up with plenty of beautiful blooms for Thanksgiving weekend! Pumpkins filled with flowers, fresh bouquets, and mason jar arrangements are ready to go.

This is our last flower market of the season! We might be back with winter wreaths later on, but that’s still to be decided.

Come say hello, grab some Thanksgiving blooms, and help us wrap up our flower season!

Wildflower filler 🤍🌿

Not everything in our bouquets is planted in a neat little row.

One of my favourite parts of designing with locally grown flowers is looking beyond the flower beds. These wild asters and pink smartweed are growing naturally around the property, and they make the most beautiful airy filler.

They add movement, texture and that slightly untamed, meadowy look that you just can’t manufacture. And because they’re already growing here, I get to forage a little bit of the landscape around North Shore Flower Co. and bring it into our arrangements.

Some of the best “filler” in the garden was never planted at all. 🤍

This beauty is headed to the Tatamagouche Market tomorrow!

Globe amaranth ✨

One of those little flowers that doesn’t necessarily demand your attention in the garden—but becomes incredibly useful once you start arranging.

Globe amaranth, or gomphrena, produces these sweet little papery blooms in shades of pink, purple, orange and white. They add a perfect pop of colour and texture without taking over an arrangement.

Even better? They’re fantastic for drying. The blooms hold their shape and colour remarkably well, which means what we’re harvesting now can find its way into dried arrangements long after the growing season is over.

They also love the heat, keep producing when regularly cut, and the more little stems I harvest, the more uses I seem to find for them.

Tiny flower. Big workhorse. Definitely growing again. 🌸🧡

One last big flower-filled weekend! 💐🍂

Market prep is underway, and the buckets are overflowing with beautiful fall blooms!

We’re pulling together a gorgeous final selection of fresh bouquets for the Tatamagouche Farmers’ Market this Saturday. So much colour, texture, and autumn goodness!

Shout out to Karen, Emma and Robbie as well who all played a part in bringing this weekend together.

A big thank-you to Branch & Blossom for sharing some of their beautiful blooms and helping us finish the market season with a bang!

It’s bittersweet to be wrapping up the season, but we’re going out with plenty of flowers and a whole lot of gratitude.

Come find us Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and take home a little piece of fall! 🌸

1,100 tulip bulbs have officially arrived at North Shore Flower Co.!

It might be October, but we’re already dreaming of spring blooms. Now comes the fun part… getting all 1,100 planted! 🌷
