When you get older, you start to realize just how much the older guys who trained you actually shaped the person you are today.

Your grit. Your mental toughness. Your work ethic. Your willingness to keep pushing when you’re exhausted, when things aren’t going your way, and when quitting would be the easier option.

A lot of that comes from the old-school approach they taught us.

Before all the fancy equipment, the machines, and the technology we have today, there was hard work, ingenuity, problem-solving, and figuring things out with what you had. There was no shortcut. No easy way out. You showed up, got your hands dirty, and got the job done.

And whether we realized it at the time or not, those long days, tough lessons, high expectations, and sometimes uncomfortable experiences were building something much bigger than just our skill set. They were building our character.

They taught us to take pride in our work. To be dependable. To figure it out when things got tough. To respect the trade, respect the people around us, and never be afraid of a hard day’s work.

Looking back, you realize those guys weren’t just teaching you how to do a job. They were teaching you how to carry yourself through life.

And now, as we get older, it’s our turn to carry those lessons forward and pass them down to the next generation.

I had a great mentor for 9 years 🙏🏾

There are days when I have to stop and realize just how lucky I am.

I get to wake up every day and do something I’m incredibly passionate about. Something that challenges me, pushes me, and gives me a sense of purpose. But what makes it even more special is getting to do it alongside some of the best people I could ever ask for.

What started as co-workers turned group of friends, family, and people working toward the same goal has become so much more than that.

We’ve shared the long days, the early mornings, the laughs, the frustrations, the wins, the setbacks, and everything in between. We’ve had each other’s backs when things got tough, and celebrated together when things went right.

Somewhere along the way, we stopped feeling like a crew and started feeling like a family.

And now, more than ever, I’m grateful for that.

This isn’t just work to me.

It’s something I’m passionate about.
It’s something we’ve built together.
And most importantly, it’s something I get to share with people I consider family.

Forever grateful for this life, this work, and this crew.
