We have discovered a minor leak we are working on repairing this morning, located east of the beach footpath. We hope to have it repaired by noon. The properties marked with blue highlighter on the map may be affected.

We have reestablished water supply to the whole Silver Bay system. We are still not convinced that we have found all of the leaks and so may need to isolate certain areas again if/when we find new leaks. We will schedule outages and try to let those users know who would be affected if this happens. As of now we're on for the season and looking forward to warmer weather. Have a great weekend.

Water Outage Alert- Silver Bay

Our water-on moment yesterday was short- lived, as overnight the reservoirs were pumped dry, indicating a new and very significant leak in the distribution system!! We are attempting to narrow down the section where it is by turning off sections. Currently only the west side is pressurized. Expect intermittent service until we can locate and isolate the problem.

We ask for your patience while we get things back on track, and please call immediately if you think there is a leak near you.

We have located and uncovered the water leak. It was a pipe failed due to improper backfilling after driveway work was done by a former property owner. Currently the red circled properties do not have water, but we have the repair parts and to have the repair done tomorrow, weather permitting.

Hi, Silver Bay people! The filtration system is functional, disinfection is complete, and distribution flushing was completed today. With the exception of an area at the west end of Firelane 12, where there is a leak to be repaired, the system is on target to be pressurized tomorrow. Don't forget to let the water run from faucets for awhile to flush your interior plumbing.

Splashdown of water intake happened about 2 hours ago. The weather and wind were perfect for a first try success! The buoys are bobbing at the end of the pipeline, and the placement is nice and straight. Look how sparkling clear the water is! Special thanks to our son Marc for making the time from his own busy schedule to help out this morning. We will keep the updates coming as to when the distribution system areas are leak tested pressurized.

A North wind is forecast Thursday so we hope things will fall in nicely so we can proceed with next steps- pumping, disinfecting, flushing.

We are readying for the summer season at Silver Bay. Armour rocks have been moved to their summer spots, the lake is liquid, not solid, and the lake crawler is on site waiting for favourable weather to attempt placement of the intake pipeline. And the sun is shining brightly today!
