It's almost here!!🥳 The Master Gardeners Niagara Plant Sale!

Fall is a fantastic time to plant. Arguably better than spring, with the way the weather has shifted in the past few years.

Hope to see you!💚💙💚

A quartet of yellow💚💙💚

Waiting on purple (New England Aster) to enter the scene. In the meantime... a lovely mix of tones, ranging from deep gold, almost orange, to bright, clear yellow. And, of course the play of 'petal' sizes and shapes. (These petals are technically called ray florets.)

Image 2: Grey-headed Coneflower (Rudbecia pinnata)
Image 3: Cutleaf Coneflower (Rudbeckia laciniata)
Image 4: Orange Coneflower 'Goldsturm' (Rudbeckia fulgida)
Image 4: Cup Plant (Silphium perfoliatum)

A 'single' colour is not boring!

Apparently, quite a bit of footage of a tree while i was explaining why I was filming the tree.😂 (Don't worry! I edited that out.)

So... if I cant show you the bird, I can at least show you my tomatoes.

Because that's basically how wildlife photography works, right?

Seems I was a bit overdue on harvesting cherry tomatoes! This is the first pick. The bowl is the insert from my Oxo salad spinner. 5.5 lbs of cherry tomatoes! Gold Nugget, Chocolate Cherry, and Sweet Million.

There are TONS more — from almost ready to wee-and-green. I think I'll donate this first round. It may not be a truckload, but I'm sure they'll be appreciated!

(This was 10 minutes after it had stopped bleeding the first time😅)

Finally taking an actual break... Lights aren't great for our nighttime pollinators – they do make for interesting nightscapes. Happy Friday and have a wonderful night y'all!🥰

PS. One of the resident skunks wandered by while I was posting. You mind you business, theyll mind theirs! 💚💙💚

Hey folks! Are you off today and not sure what to do?

I'll be at the Val Fleming Butterfly Garden starting around 9:45, helping keep this beautiful community garden designed by Sean James looking its best. I'll be there for at least 3 hours — if you've got some time, enjoy being outside, and helping a community garden thrive, I'd love to have a few extra sets of hands!

No fancy skills required — just a trowel and/or garden fork, and maybe some gloves. I don't have a crew's worth of tools (I might have more than one 'personality' but I'm still only one body, lol), so don't have any spares.

Hope to see you soon!

Apologies for being gone so long. This season has been kinda crazy. Which is great🥰... for everything but finding time for social media.

So, I was just cleaning up from (taking a break from design work) working in the garden (being eaten alive by 'skeeters), and walked by one of many clumps of Echinacea purpurea. Holy wowsers! One flower is so rich in colour😍 Not that I mind the paler versions at all, of course!

Anyhoo... had to share. And the camera almost exactly captured the colour for a change.

Enjoy and (hopefully) see you soon!
