A good outdoor room does what a good indoor room does. It holds people, slows the hour, and gives the day a place to settle.

Redwood, designed for every season the day settles into.

Past peak.

A planting palette shouldn’t rely on peak bloom to hold its own. As summer fades, flowers give way to seed heads, grasses take on warmer tones, and texture starts to carry more of the landscape.

Lakeside privacy through layered planting.

Ferns, lupines, and native perennials fill the slope from the granite outcrop up to the terrace. The plantings do the screening, the boulders hold the grade, and the layers tuck the terrace into the site rather than in front of it.

Privacy without walls.

Our Summer Wrapped: Fire Pits

The centre of most cottage evenings. Designed for the hours after dinner, the long stories, and the reason no one wants to head inside.

That’s our summer, wrapped.

Our Summer Wrapped: Native Plantings & Gardens

The parts of the design closest to the land. Some already there, some planted to belong. Native shorelines, wildflowers, and grasses that carry the wind through every season.

The land always leads.

Our Summer Wrapped: Pools & Spas

Water built into the design. Hot soaks and morning laps, afternoon floats and evening dips. Designed for the hours when the day slows down to the pace of the water.

A summer’s worth of water, and a lot more to design.

Our Summer Wrapped: Outdoor Kitchens.

The space that carried the season. Where morning coffee turns into afternoon conversations, and prep for dinner starts before the sun goes down. Designed for entertaining, quiet cooking, and everything in between.

A few of our favourites from the season, and a preview of the spaces we’d love to shape for next summer.
