Summer may be winding down but my Zoff's Greenhouses is going so strong!! I started seeding mid February and thanks to succession planting techniques, I have been harvesting and seeding ever since!!

Our Zoff Farmed Goods were absolutely spectacular this year!! Check out our cucumber patch! (hound for scale). Our tomatoes are still going strong right beside our fall and winter crops.

All throughout the space you can see the work of the season, spring crops drying for seed saving, winter leeks and cabbage getting nice and chubby, never ending strawberries!!

I have a few prizes of the season, especially my two luffas which I am soooo proud of! ❤️

As many of you know, this is my first season with a greenhouse of my very own!! After almost two decades of growing in pots or borrowed land, I have been able to put down some more permanent roots (pun intended).

Given the space and freedom to grow what I want, I wasted no time seeding medicine, unique flowers, tea plants and herbs. Things I have always wanted to grow but didnt have the resources or space for.

Check this out!! I started a flat of white smudging sage this spring and harvested yesterday. Looks like I got the equivalent of about four decent bundles. The potent magic of homegrown sage is next level. My witchy heart is full and I am so proud of my harvest!

I am so grateful for my garden, a true lifeline and grounding space for this ol' garden lady. ❤️

This summer, I had the absolute privilege of attending the workshops put on by TreeEater Farm and Nursery on Denman Island. Peter partnered with Greg from Bramblewood Nursery to educate growers in the region.

These two guys brought decades of knowledge to the table. We learned so many crucial and valuable skills and techniques for making our food gardens more sustainable.

In the first workshop Establishing Woody Perennials we learned about selecting the right food trees and crops for the right locations for proper stewardship and spent some hands on time learning grafting, pruning and proper planting techniques.

In the second workshop about Water Management we learned about earthworks techniques for moving and optimizing water, rainwater collection, storage and irrigation.

I learned so many things! I filled some holes in my knowledge, strengthened my understanding and practiced techniques.

I know I have lots of work to do on my grafting skills, but I am so grateful to be able to use this new knowledge to improve my work, support our garden projects and communities, and be a better steward to the land and water.

Peter and Greg are both brilliant minds and I am so grateful for their patience and teaching. I am so happy to have shared this time with so many like minded individuals. To be surrounded by those working towards a similar life is so validating.

PS. And Peter's partner Jill, who kept us fed and nourished during our stays, I appreciate you and thank you!!

Awww yesss. Look what I spotted in the greenhouse! Ladybug larvae are voracious predators, with a single larvae eating hundreds of aphids a day! They are always welcome in my gardens and always a pleasure to see.

Keep up the good work kiddos!
