Finally wrapped up a fairly comprehensive makeover. We utilize the littlebacco on the back of our bx25 to tear out a bunch of turf and old rhododendron some tree roots and all of the weeds. Finished the weeding by hand creating new edges for the Bender board to be installed in. We planted with care three rhododendrons not forgetting the bone meal and other secret ingredients rhododendrons like.

BEFORE & AFTER pruning.
This Rhododendron has not been properly pruned in many years. An aggressive up***rt and a slight shaping and this will Bloom like crazy next spring. This Rhododendron now has a more symmetrical, cleaner appearance!

MT. WASHINGTON Aug 10 th with Al Kiefer

Mountain Hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana):
The distinctive dark purple, elongated cones and short, flattened needles are characteristic of the Mountain Hemlock, a high-elevation species found in coastal areas of British Columbia, including regions near Port Alberni.
Cones:
These cones are female cones, containing seeds, and are typically pendulous (hanging downwards).
Needles:
The needles are short, about 1.5 to 2.5 cm long, and are densely arranged on the branches.
Habitat:
Mountain Hemlocks thrive in humid, high-elevation environments and are a significant part of the ecosystem in the Pacific Northwest.
