Apparently it is no secret that mother nature and I are not on the same page. That is okay, I love a challenge.

With that said I did pickup the new disk this morning. Missing parts are on order but I have pastures in need of seeding, so yes Deb, if dry enough over the weekend I will get yours done. Or early next week as forecast is promising. Next week is also going to see several pastures and commercial properties sprayed. If a really good week some pastures and commercial properties will also get a mowing. Yes, a busy catch up week in the works.

Since certain equipment seems to be hard to get, I have placed my order for my winter equipment which will be a huge upgrade from last year.

What a difference having a real sprayer... This one is not breaking anytime soon. Managed to make a huge mark on some serious backlog.

The disc has sort of shown up. Missing some parts but it is going to work Monday morning to get some pastures seeded.

The new sprayer is finally wired up and "fine tuned". Loaded and ready to go for tonight. This should be the start of some serious acres covered after the long wait.

The new harrows and Arena groomer are also serviced and ready. Still hoping for a disc soon.

This was a full week filled with a backlog of numerous spraying jobs. On another positive note Brandt is working to resolve the "missing equipment" issue. Hoping this will see the much anticipated tillage equipment here in time for pasture seeding.

Next week, as long as mother nature gets the memo, should see some serious work with the new pasture sprayer. Added to that will be a couple days of pasture seeding, breaking in a few more new pieces of equipment. If really lucky, squeeze in a day for some pasture mowing.

Until then..... Off to enjoy the long weekend at a rodeo in Carstairs.

This week a few acreage seeding jobs were the priority, one still needs north side done.

Next week, seeding two pastures and spraying take priority, plus a few odd jobs when mother nature tries to rain.

Although we are booked for at least the next two weeks, feel free to get added to the list now as it seems the two week booking is only going to stretch out.

When Brandt Ponoka drops the ball on being able to "order" several pieces of equipment, there comes a point when I will deal with it myself. Four months is long enough.

Markus, the owner of Rimbey Equipment, made sure i did not leave without filling the trailer this morning. They are a dealer for several brands of Canadian made products that are extremely well built. The arena groomer will get a couple personal upgrades during winter, but a very solid product. Markus was left with my wishlist for future equipment.

I did manage to finally pickup my 30 foot sprayer. Thanks to Dustin for completing assembly and pressure test this morning. I am thinking this one will be no comparison to the last one. However, missing the foam marker kit.

With today's additions we should be set to finally get caught up with the bulk of the backlogs in the next few weeks. Spraying and Seeding for acreages and pastures, along with rotary cutting should fill the next few weeks.

This 30 foot sprayer will be making quick work of the pastures and commercial properties on the list.

With much anticipation for the equipment to arrive and mother nature cooperate we are getting a break. With that said Brandt has dropped the ball on getting some stuff ordered. Kudos to Helana, Dustin, and Ted for their efforts of pushing a rope uphill. 😅🤣

I am still amazed on how much support this Ponoka community offers to their businesses. I was approached this week by another business owner, whom just himself relocated and expanded. He has offered to come work with me 2-3 days per week to get caught up with the backlog of projects on the go. If the rest of the equipment would arrive this may also lead to the ability to grow with the demand. Sorry, not mentioning names until it happens.

The wet weather has had an impact on current pasture and acreage seeding jobs as it is still too wet. But not enough to keep me from trying. Today's pasture turned out decent. Sprayed 2 weeks ago. Tilled today. Let stand for a week then hut it with the new disc that should arrive???? Then seed and fertilize.

Finally starting to receive the much anticipated equipment. There are still several pieces to arrive yet but hope is on the horizon. So far only one significant breakdown, which was on an older sprayer, so maybe the past year can be a distant memory. 😅 The parts for this unit arrived Friday and will be back in operation this week. All the new equipment has been flawless and a huge step up in functionality, features, and power. Being able to reset the business from past problems was the correct decision.

One big addition last week was the arrival of a second trailer. This allows one trailer to be setup as a designated spray trailer without wasting a day switching back and forth. The second trailer will be used for mowing, tillage, and seeding projects. With both trucks and both trailers my days are going to be a lot more productive and less stressful. The next obvious step may be to find a responsible, trustworthy individual to operate one of the setups.

Mother nature continues to mess with my schedule and at some point you just have to work with it best you can. Currently we have about 300 acres of pasture and commercial spraying which will be performed at night, 150 acres of pasture cutting, 50 acres of complete acreages till and seed, plus the numerous patient acreage owners waiting on w**d spraying. Then we have a few grading jobs that will be slotted in last minute.

Lana must be doing something right with my advertising since I am seeing acreage bookings as far as southwest of Calgary. That may be a hard project to come home from, as it is beautiful country.
