Happening 7pm TONIGHT at Rotary Hall!

🍅 The price of produce is going up, there's talk of growing your own food to combat it - but where do you begin?

Join us on Wednesday (May 27), 7pm at Rotary Hall, Picton, for Getting Your Vegetable Garden Ready - your chance to learn about preparing your garden for growing food for you and your family.

Covering topics such as fertilisers, soil preparation and techniques like keyhole gardening - by the end of the evening you'll feel confident in growing fruit, veggies and herbs in your own backyard.

But that's not all...

We'll also have a demonstration of container planting! Our presenters will show the best tips and tricks for selecting and arranging plants (flowers and/or food) to grow in containers.

Best part is: these talks are free, and open to all! We even provide refreshments ☕️

So, no matter what size of space you've got, you too can grow plants that thrive this year!

🌱 Looking for plants that won't make you drag a hose across the garden every day?
🌼 Or something that'll brighten up that dark, damp corner that's loved only by the weeds?
🦋 Maybe you want to tempt in those butterflies that visit your neighbours' garden?

Head over to Picton Armoury this Saturday (May 30) to check out the Native Plant Sale, and discover low-maintenance, locally-grown plants that will actually thrive in your garden!

Open 10am-2pm, there'll be volunteers on hand to talk you through the options and help with figuring out what would suit you, and your garden. The best part? Most plants are just $5 each. Affordable, low-maintenance plants that will love your garden: for gardeners, is there anything better?

This plant sale is a fundraiser for Trees For PEC, a tree planting fund, run by volunteers from County Garden Club, Prince Edward County Field Naturalists, and Ameliasburgh Garden Club.

We are grateful to The Armoury for generously providing the space for this sale as an in-kind donation.
