Building on the momentum of Kelowna's Year of Sport, Wildstone is proud to be part of the design-build team, alongside Stantec and Populous, that is working to develop the concept for the City of Kelowna's proposed $25-million modernization of the Apple Bowl, announced today!

The vision is to strengthen the Apple Bowl as a leading multi-use sports and event venue, expanding year-round community access and positioning Kelowna as a potential future home for a Canadian Premier League club by 2028.

Proposed improvements include:
🔹 A new east grandstand adding approximately 3,000 seats (5,000 total)
🔹 Upgraded washrooms, locker rooms, concessions and storage
🔹 A new scoreboard
🔹 VIP suites and broadcast-ready functional areas
🔹 Artificial turf field conversion
🔹 Entrance plaza integration with the Parkinson Recreation Centre site

The project is subject to Council's budget approval, and the City will work with community sport and recreation partners to inform the final design, with opportunities for public comment as planning advances.

We're honoured to be helping shape what's possible for this Kelowna landmark.

Back-to-back slab pours made for a great week on-site, as our new Fire Centre project in NWT continues to take shape, one pour at a time.

A fantastic effort from our whole team as we keep this project moving forward, well done!

Right now, across the Okanagan and communities all over BC, so many people are working so hard to keep others safe. First responders, firefighters, RCMP, support workers, volunteers, and everyday people showing up in whatever way they can.

To everyone on the front lines of this wildfire season, and to everyone opening their homes, donating supplies, and supporting evacuees: thank you. This is what community looks like at its best.

Our hearts go out to the residents of Faulder, Summerland, Peachland and everyone who has been displaced from their homes this week. We're thinking of you, and we're here to help in any way we can.

Wildstone is proud to call BC home, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by wildfires this season. Stay safe and thank you.

Last week, our team had the honour to host the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation Youth Pre-Carpentry Training Program, alongside Yukon University instructor, Lydia Veillette.

Over the two days, participants learned basic carpentry skills, worked safely with hand and power tools, and successfully completed six planter boxes! These planter boxes will be installed at the new Youth Centre, where they'll support future gardening programs for local youth for generations to come.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this program possible. These may seem like small initiatives, but they create lasting impacts, helping to inspire the next generation to explore careers in the skilled trades.

Pile installation is underway as work continues to take shape on a new northern cultural centre project. Our crews are doing a fantastic job advancing foundation work with precision and setting the stage for the build ahead!

Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day, a day to honour the cultures, histories, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

This past year Wildstone had the privilege of working alongside Nations and communities across BC, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. We supported a brand-new carpentry training program with Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in and Yukon University, kicked-off Indigenous heritage and cultural gathering spaces in the Yukon and BC, and led community art and arena projects in Anahim Lake with Ulkatcho First Nation.

We were also honoured to be part of a multi-use gathering space opening with Taku River Tlingit First Nation in Atlin, BC and to stand alongside community members at the land blessing ceremony for the Dawson City Recreation Centre and the grand opening of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Elders Complex.

Recently, we were proud to announce a new partnership with the Nihtat Gwich'in Council in Inuvik, NT, bringing together Wildstone's northern construction expertise and the Council's traditional knowledge and community ties to pursue major development projects in Inuvik and the surrounding region. We know this is the beginning of a long and meaningful relationship built on economic development and long-term community benefit.

Each of these experiences is a reminder that the most important thing we build is community. These partnerships are built on trust and shaped by the leadership and knowledge that Nations bring to every project, and we are thankful for our inclusion.

Today we celebrate, we listen, and we reflect. And we carry that forward every day.
