Travel Advisory - Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be performing drainage maintenance and scupper cleaning throughout the Mid-Island service area on BC Highways 1, 19, 19A, 4 and 4A.

When: Sunday, October 18th to Thursday, December 31st, 2026.
Time: 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM | Nights only

Rolling lane closures will be in effect throughout the service area.

Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers. Please show respect for all roadside crews – Slow Down.

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be maintaining culverts along BC Highway 1, just south of Morden Road in Cedar.

When: Thursday, October 15th, 2026
Time: 8:00am to 3:00pm

The southbound right lane will remain closed for the duration of the project; please expect minor delays when travelling through the area.

Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers. Please show respect for all roadside crews – Slow Down.

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be ditching and installing a cross culvert on BC Highway 4, just east of Cathedral Grove near Port Alberni.

When: Monday, October 19th to Wednesday, October 28th, 2026 | Weekdays
Time: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Single-lane traffic will be in effect on BC Highway 4 for the duration of the project, minor delays are expected.

Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers. Please show respect for all roadside crews – Slow Down.

⚠️ Heads up if you're driving Highway 4 later this month ⚠️

Mainroad Mid-Island Contracting crews will be installing a cross culvert on Highway 4, just east of Cathedral Grove near Port Alberni.

📅 Monday, October 19 to Wednesday, October 28 (weekdays only)

🕗 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Traffic will be down to a single lane through the work zone. Minor delays are expected, so give yourself a little extra time on trips to and from Port Alberni.

Please slow down. Follow the signs and the traffic control crews. Those workers have families waiting for them at home.
