Travel Advisory - Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be performing shoulder maintenance on BC Highway 4 from The Orange Bridge (Riverbend Bridge) in Port Alberni west to the Tofino Junction.

When: Friday, June 19th and Monday, June 22nd, 2026

Time: 6:00am to 4:00pm

Drivers can expect a slow-moving lane closure through the area for the duration of the project.

Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers. Please show respect for all roadside crews – Slow Down.

Travel Advisory - Nanoose Creek Bridge Resurfacing and Asphalt Repair on Northwest Bay Road

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be resurfacing Nanoose Creek Bridge and performing asphalt repairs on Northwest Bay Road in Nanoose.

Thursday, June 18th to Friday, June 19th, 2026.
7:00am to 7:00am | 24-Hours

Single-lane traffic will be in effect in both directions for the duration of the project.

Travel Advisory - Roadside Mowing for Central Island Service Area

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be performing roadside mowing throughout Service Area 2. This will take place on provincial roadways from Mount Sicker Road to Cook Creek Road and West to Tofino.

When: Monday, May 11th to Tuesday, June 30th, 2026
Time: 5:00am to 4:00pm, 7 days a week.

Drivers can expect slow moving vehicles and rolling lane closures with minimal delays. Drive BC will be updated when crews are scheduled to be working on BC Highways 1, 19, 19A, 4 and 4A.

Travel Advisory - Grind and Pave Multiple Locations on BC Highway 4, West of Port Alberni

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be grinding and repaving multiple sections of BC Highway 4, west of Port Alberni.

Date: Monday, June 15th to Wednesday, June 17th, 2026
Time: 7:00am - 6:00pm

Crews will be starting at BC Highway 4 and Saiyatchapis Road on Monday at 7am and then working their way West.

Please expect single-lane traffic in both directions for the duration of the project.

Travel Advisory - BC Highway 4 – Roadside Ditching and Cross Culvert Installation

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be installing a cross culvert and performing roadside ditching in both the northbound and southbound lanes of BC Highway 4 at the Kennedy River Rest Stop near Ucluelet.

When: Monday, June 8th to Wednesday, June 17th, 2026.
Time: 8:00am to 5:00pm | Weekdays

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane for the duration of the project. Please expect minor delays when travelling through the area.
