STYLING

Styling a home, often referred to as property styling or home styling, is the creative process of arranging furniture, accessories, lighting, and artwork to enhance the aesthetic appeal, personality, and functionality of a living space. Unlike interior design, which may involve structural changes, styling focuses on the final, decorative layers that make a home feel curated, cohesive, and personal to the inhabitants.

Seven Types of Popular Interior Design

Seven distinct, popular types of interior design include Modern, Contemporary, Scandinavian, Industrial, Minimalist, Traditional, and Bohemian, each offering unique aesthetics through specific colors, furniture forms, and layouts.

These styles range from sleek, functional designs to cozy, eclectic, or historic, focusing on creating distinct moods within a home.

Modern: Rooted in the early-to-mid 20th century, this style features clean, straight lines, a neutral color palette, and a focus on functionality and simplicity.

Contemporary: Represents current, "of the moment" design with soft lines, open spaces, and natural light.
Scandinavian: Inspired by Nordic countries, it emphasizes minimalism, functionality, and hygge (coziness), often using light-colored wood and neutral tones.

Industrial: Draws inspiration from warehouses and factories, utilizing raw materials like exposed brick, concrete, metal, and wood.

Minimalist: Focuses on the "less is more" philosophy, characterized by extreme simplicity, clean lines, and a strictly organized, uncluttered space.
Traditional: Based on European 18th and 19th-century design, it features dark wood, ornate details, rich colors, and symmetrical furniture arrangements.

Bohemian (Boho): A free-spirited style incorporating vibrant colors, mixed patterns, natural materials, and global, vintage, or handmade accessories.
Other notable styles include Mid-Century Modern, Transitional, Farmhouse, and Coastal.
