It has been a long time coming. Years of planning and design, years of construction, and now, floor by floor, it’s finally open. We couldn’t be more proud of the team it took to make this happen.

Caelin Luey has officially received a Limited License from the Ontario Association of Architects, making her a Licensed Technologist through the . This is no small accomplishment!

The Ontario government recently amended the Architects Act, formally creating a new and legally recognized Limited License category. Architects DCA supported this change, including providing support with a deputation to Committee in February 2024.

Caelin is now a part of the first generation of Technologists in the architectural discipline entering this newly established chapter, helping shape the future of architectural practice in Ontario.

Caelin joins Derek Ruddy, who also received the Licensed Technologist designation after changes to the Act.

Architects DCA is enriched by the technical leadership and commitment to excellence that Licensed Technologists, OAA, bring to practice. DCA thrives because of their technical proficiency, leadership, and skills.

DCA encourages graduates of programs in architectural technology to pursue licensure with the OAA as a means of acknowledging their skills, their work and commitment to the public interest. This is more than just a title, this is an empowering role that shows years of education, experience and examination to hold themselves accountable.
