Meet the Team: Iveth Mendez
Office Manager

At MCL, Iveth has spent the past two years supporting both our office and field teams, helping keep day-to-day operations running smoothly through organization, coordination, and a hands-on approach.

She describes the culture as one built around encouragement, ownership, and continuous growth. It’s the teamwork and ever-changing nature of the job that she enjoys most - no two days look quite the same.

Outside of work, she is either spending time with family, reading, gaming or more recently - wedding planning.

From a former shipping warehouse to a fully functional regional hub, this Cooper Equipment Rentals project was delivered through a 3 phased design-build approach.

The project included site improvements, a new client-facing showroom, upgraded employee spaces, accessibility improvements, and a complete warehouse overhaul, including mechanical, electrical, and septic upgrades.

With Cooper’s operations continuing throughout construction, careful phasing and coordination were key to keeping the project moving safely and efficiently with minimal disruption.

Project Team:
Architectural Design: Dredge Leahy Architects
Structural Design: Cleland Jardine Engineering, now BPA
Mechanical & Electrical Design: -Engineering-100063685022640
Septic Design: Kollaard Associates Engineers

Some milestones are worth pausing for. 🏗️

There’s something special about seeing a project take shape and knowing how much teamwork went into getting it there. When we reach a milestone like this, it’s a chance to recognize the people who helped make it happen.

Here’s to the progress, the proud moments, and everything still to come!

Last week, Duke and Chris traded the job site for the fairway, joining the TrueDot Fore-Play Tournament as caddies!

We’re proud to have had them represent the Maddison team! Thank you to TrueDot for putting together a fantastic tournament at the Canadian Golf & Country Club, and to all the ladies Duke and Chris had the chance to caddy for ⛳️

The work may change from project to project. Our standard doesn’t.

For more than two decades, MCL has built its reputation on experienced people, thoughtful coordination and a commitment to quality.

It’s an approach that has allowed us to grow from a grassroots enterprise into a multi-faceted general contractor serving clients across the government, industrial, commercial, institutional, and multi-residential sectors.

We were proud to recently sponsor the 5th Annual Ambleside Tri-Community Family & Friends Day and spend the afternoon connecting with the community we’re currently building in.

With over 170 neighbours in attendance and 200+ burgers and hot dogs served, it was a great afternoon of food, fun and community.

A big thank you to the Ambleside II Community Committee for putting together such a great day, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

A special project for our team - not only because of the complexity behind the work, but because it’s a landmark so many of us pass by every day in downtown Ottawa.

MCL proudly delivered a full structural ramp restoration at the Bank of Canada’s 234 Wellington building, combining concrete repairs, a new glycol heating system, heavy-duty membrane installation, and drainage upgrades.

Completed under strict security requirements and phased closures, this project showcased the precision, problem-solving, and expertise our team brings to every restoration challenge.

Meet the Team: Amrut Amarnath
Chief Estimation Manager

In a dynamic and fast-paced environment, our Chief Estimation Manager Amrut plays a key role in shaping the foundation of every project before it begins. With a focus on precision and clarity he ensures each estimate reflects the complexity of the work and the standard of excellence the team is known for.

Having been with the team for almost 7 years, when asked what he enjoys most about work, his answer was simple - “everything”.

When it comes to standout projects for Amrut, there isn’t just one. As he highlighted, for the MCL team projects are approached with the belief that “God is in the details,” a philosophy inspired by Ar. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Outside of work, his time is grounded in what matters most - family.

We're proud to have helped create a more accessible, functional environment for the educators, staff, and students at St. Bernard Catholic Elementary School.

By coordinating multiple specialized trades, our team delivered accessibility upgrades, modernized staff spaces, and seamless renovations. All with the quality, efficiency, and attention to detail that define every MCL project.

Because creating spaces that better serve our community is what drives us.
