Today, we take a moment to remember the children who were taken from their families and communities and forced to attend residential schools, and to honour the Survivors who continue to carry those experiences.
Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity to listen, learn, and remember. It reminds us of the importance of protecting every child’s right to feel safe, loved, valued, and connected to their family, culture, and community.
We honour the Survivors, remember the children who never came home, and recognize the lasting impact on Indigenous families and communities.
