EASE Grant applications are due by May 7th!!

Thank you to the Council on Aging of Ottawa / Le Conseil sur le vieillissement d’Ottawa for hosting another fantastic Spring Luncheon fundraiser.

It’s always such a well-attended event, and this year’s topic truly resonated with us. BuildAble appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs)—an increasingly important conversation as our population ages.

It was also wonderful to reconnect with friends and meet so many new inspiring people. 💕

Let’s challenge a common assumption:

Accessibility ≠ Wheelchair only.

This automatic door opener was installed for a client where everyday tasks can turn into real obstacles. It also gives the clients time to enter the house without the door needing to be held open (and who wouldn’t love that!?)!

Good design doesn’t just remove barriers. It adapts to the person.
That’s what accessibility should look like.

A new automatic garage door opener installed for our client!

This automatic garage door opener allows the door to be code compliant, a garage’s door has to self-close and be gas sealed. It also gives the clients time to enter the house without the door needing to be held open.

BuildAble prepares the space and use an automatic door specialist to supply and install.
