Founded in 1968, the Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association (CKCA) is a national association that strives to promote the interests and conserve the rights of manufacturers of kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and related millwork, as well as their suppliers and dealers, throughout Canada. The CKCA is located in Ottawa and is comprised of 13 Board members from across the industry. We have more than

30 industry volunteers sitting on a wide range of committees all working to ensure our industry continues to thrive. The Association holds virtual and face to face events across Canada. We are proud to be the only national association representing the manufacture of kitchens and bathrooms and related millwork in Canada. We want consumers to purchase Canadian built kitchen cabinets!

This week CKCA members are voting for their Board – there are 3 CKCA member candidates for 2 available positions on the Board of Directors. Members will have received voting notices via email and a registration link to the AGM. Vote using Proxy and Ballot or by attending live via Zoom the CKCA Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 18 at 1pm ET. Note that the deadline to vote using proxy is Wednesday, June 17 at 5pm ET. Last week Statistics Canada data reported that housing construction has been (and is) declining across Canada and multi-unit housing construction took the largest drop. Now, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) has released data that reveals Canada could have built 30% more homes between 2006 and 2024 if it was not for “structural inefficiencies” holding back Canadian homebuilding. One such inefficiency is restrictive land use rules – and CMHC is suggesting that there needs to be reduced red tape in Canadian municipalities.
