**Almost a decade of building Aquila together - and camping has become a bit of a tradition along the way. 🇨🇦**
We found this old photo from a camping trip with some of our first crew members, and it got us looking back at how far we’ve come.
When Corey Powell and Walter Spera started Aquila, they had a pretty clear idea of the kind of roofing company they wanted to build.
They’d seen homeowners struggle to understand what they were actually getting when comparing roofing quotes: different materials, installation methods, and warranties, but not always a clear explanation of why those differences mattered.
They also wanted to build a company where the people doing the work had a real stake in what they were building together. That’s part of why Aquila has a profit-sharing model.
Those ideas still shape how we work today.
Corey and Walter remain hands-on with projects. Our roofing work is completed by our own crew, and we take the time to explain the materials and decisions that go into each roof.
Because a roof isn’t just about what you see when the job is finished. It’s also about what goes underneath it, how it’s installed, and knowing the people responsible for the work stand behind it.
A lot has changed since those early days, but the thinking behind Aquila hasn’t.
And we're looking forward to many more years of building together (and hopefully a few more camping trips along the way).
