Homemade sweet potato dog treats today for our own furry family.

Just one ingredient, sliced thin and dried low and slow.

Wash and bake your sweet potatoes. (We actually prefer to cut them once we’ve cooled them in the fridge).
Slice into 1/4 inch pieces.

Oven:
250°F (120°C) for about 2.5–3.5 hours, flipping halfway, until fully dried.

Dehydrator:
135°F (57°C) for 8–12 hours, until dry and leathery, not bendy. *This batch was about 16 hrs because I forgot to turn them off.

Be sure to let them cool completely before putting into your packaging.

Dogs love them, they’re easy to make, and they’re a great option when store-bought treats aren’t in the budget but sweet potatoes are on sale.

We store ours in an airtight container short-term, or fridge/freezer for longer keeping.
