Have we ever mentioned that pool decks are our bread and butter? Once or twice? Well, we will say it again!

This concrete pool deck was cracked and had several points of damage to it. We made sure to patch the damaged areas and then applied our layer of Rubacrete. Turned beautiful just like that! No need to dig up the concrete or pour cement down; that's the beauty of Rubacrete!

A question we get asked a lot is how long the installation and drying process takes. A simple question, but it can be a bit of a tough one to answer.

The weather, time of year, and scope of the project all have an impact, but generally, there is a 1-day installation period followed by a 24- 48-hour drying process. This drying process is based on how much moisture the surface is exposed to.

It's less likely to be exposed to moisture in the summer, with long hot days, compared to the fall, when the days become shorter, and the air has more moisture in it for longer.

On hot summer days, the concrete on your pool deck can be scaldingly hot, but not Rubacrete! Thanks to the synthetic rubber coating, your pool deck will, at most, be warm to the touch, but never hot.

Summer is here, and that means it’s time to spend more time outside!

With the summer heat, we get asked quite often how hot the Rubacrete surface gets on blistering days. Because of the synthetic rubber, it conducts very little heat on even the hottest days; on average, it is about 20 degrees cooler than asphalt or concrete!

It will get warm, but never hot and certainly never scalding, making it the best choice for a patio surface, especially if you have kids or pets!

Did you know that Rubacrete can be used to create an entirely new patio surface?

This homeowner had a rotting deck, which was too small, and walkways where the pavers were uneven and cracked everywhere, and decided to expand their outdoor space with Rubacrete.

First, working with the landscaping team at Revamp Garden & Landscaping, they tore down the deck and old walkway, cleared the space for the new patio, and evenly installed a thick layer of crush stone and concrete steps. Then, it was time for Rubacrete.

We applied a 1-inch base layer of Rubacrete Pave over the crush stone, so the Rubacrete Classic had something to stick to, waited 24 hours, came back the next day and applied this custom colour blend, having a similar appearance to a new deck without the upkeep!

The homeowners now have more space for outdoor gatherings, don’t have to worry about rotting deck boards or uneven slippery pavers, and can enjoy their outdoor space for years to come without the need for costly maintenance!
