R.E.L. Controls Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Senior Construction Controls Installer, within the Ottawa Area. The experienced candidate will be responsible for interpreting drawings and shop drawings, installing and terminating control devices, installing network devices, assisting and performing duties of a Building Automation Specialists, and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Experienced in installing and terminating control devices.
· Perform start-ups, repairs, and troubleshoot the environmental control systems
· Be able to assist the service, sales, and engineering departments.
· Assuring the best quality of installation.
· Keep current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair.
· Provide technical support and basic training to customers.
· Travel to customer job site is required. Travel within National Capital area and Eastern Ontario Area.
· Standard work hours are from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, and available for occasional after hours and weekend shifts for afterhours service.
Qualifications:
· Ideally technologists’ Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Process Controls, Building Automation or equivalent is considered an asset.
· Minimum3 years’ experience working with Building Automation System (BAS), HVAC and/or the construction industry.
· Experience in Reliable Controls or other pneumatic & Electronic Automatic Temperature Control System.
· Familiarity with basic programming requirements for DDC systems.
· Able to interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans or other technical documents.
· Good working knowledge of the operation, installation, and servicing of peripheral devices.
· Trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills, able to diagnose problems and implement cost-effective solutions.
· Successfully pass and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance (i.e., Reliability and/or Secret), and criminal checks
· Able to commute to customer job sites and have a valid driver’s license (clean drivers abstract records).
· Good communication skills
· Demonstrate commitment to excellent in customer service.
· Able to work with minimal supervision.
· Working At Heights Training Certificate (this can be obtained with the help of the company)
