So you bought a pool, now what? 💦 Let’s talk about the filter, the piece of equipment quietly working behind the scenes to keep your water looking clean all season long.

Whether you have a sand filter or a cartridge filter, every system comes with a pressure gauge, and learning to read it is one of the most useful things a new pool owner can do. Once you know your filter’s clean pressure reading, the gauge will tell you exactly when it needs attention.

🔵 After a backwash, wait a few minutes and take note of your clean pressure reading
🔵 When the gauge rises 4 to 5 PSI above that clean number, it’s time to backwash again
🔵 If your pool came with the house, check that the gauge is actually working, since replacing one is a simple fix you can do yourself
