This is roughly $15,000 worth of armour stone being delivered for this backyard — a $168,000 outdoor living project.

The stone itself is only one part of the equation.

There’s sourcing the right material, loading it, transporting it, unloading it with heavy equipment, handling each piece safely, and eventually placing those massive stones exactly where they need to go.

And that's just one material on one day.

It’s interesting how we’ve been conditioned to see value.

We don’t question the things we use every day to get from one place to another, but sometimes hesitate when it comes to investing in the place where we spend our time, create memories, and welcome the people we care about.

I’m grateful to Peter and George, the owners of Oriole Landscaping, for inviting me inside their company and giving me the opportunity to learn how they operate at such a high level.

Oriole has built a landscaping company doing multi-millions in annual revenue, but the most valuable part of the visit wasn’t the number. It was seeing the people, systems, standards, and decisions behind it.

There is always more to learn, especially from those who have already built what we are working toward.
