Most of the properties I do are small, but I do have some larger ones that need the riding mower too.

This is one example of dedication 😂 I didn’t feel safe parking on the main road, so I ratchet-strapped my blower to the mower, carried my string trimmer, and walked a block to get the job done.

A few people asked me last summer why I cut their grass a little longer…”

Here’s why 👇

In Ontario, we deal with cool-season grasses and they don’t handle summer heat very well.

So during the hotter months, I raise the mowing height to around 3.5–4.5 inches.

✔️ Keeps the lawn thicker
✔️ Helps retain moisture
✔️ Shades the soil
✔️ Reduces the chance of it going dormant or burning out

In the spring, I bring it down closer to ~3 inches to clean things up and encourage fresh growth.

If you look at this photo, you can actually see it —
the taller cut is greener, thicker, and holding up better.

There’s a difference between just cutting grass and caring for it.
