🌿 WHAT WE GROW: MINT

Fresh, fragrant, and instantly recognizable — mint is one of those herbs that wakes up the senses the moment you brush against its leaves.

We grow mint for its bright, refreshing flavour and beautiful aroma. Harvested with care, it makes its way from the garden into our herbal tea blends, bringing that unmistakable cool, fresh note to every cup. ☕️🌱

And while we love mint for what it adds to our teas, we also love simply growing it — watching it thrive, harvesting it at just the right time, and knowing exactly where the herbs in your cup came from.

Grown by us. Blended by us. Enjoyed by you. 💚

🌿 Native or Not? 🌿
💙 Blue Flag Iris (Iris versicolor)

✅ NATIVE!

With its striking blue-violet blooms and graceful, sword-like leaves, the Blue Flag Iris is one of Ontario's most beautiful native wetland plants. Found naturally along shorelines, marshes, and ponds, it's as beneficial as it is beautiful.

Why we love it:
💙 A valuable nectar source for bees, butterflies, and even hummingbirds.
🌊 Its strong root system helps stabilize shorelines and reduce erosion.
🌱 Thrives in rain gardens, wet meadows, and other moisture-rich landscapes.
🦋 Supports biodiversity by providing habitat and food for native wildlife.

Fun Fact: Unlike the invasive Yellow Flag Iris, our native Blue Flag Iris works with nature—supporting healthy wetlands instead of crowding out native species.

Choosing native plants means creating landscapes that are not only beautiful, but also resilient, wildlife-friendly, and uniquely Ontario.

🌿 Native or Not? This one is definitely a Native! 💙

At Parklane Living, we believe nature has the power to heal, restore, and reconnect us.
What began as a love for plants has grown into something much bigger—a place where people can slow down, learn, create, and rediscover their connection with the natural world.

From growing many of the herbs found in our teas to hosting workshops on sustainable living, therapeutic horticulture, and native plants, everything we do is rooted in one simple belief:

🌿 When we care for nature, nature cares for us.

Our mission is to protect, educate, and improve the overall health and beauty of our world—one plant, one cup of tea, one workshop, and one conversation at a time.

Whether you've joined us for a class, stopped by for a cup of tea, planted a native species in your garden, or are just discovering us today… thank you for being part of this journey.

This is who we are.
This is why we do what we do.
And we're so glad you're here. 💚

🌿 What We Grow: Mallow (Malva spp.) 🌿

Soft, beautiful, and surprisingly versatile, Mallow is one of those plants that has quietly supported people and pollinators for centuries.

With its delicate pink to lavender blooms, Mallow adds a touch of cottage-garden charm while providing an important nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects throughout the growing season. 🐝🦋

But its value doesn't stop there.

Traditionally, Mallow leaves and flowers have been used to make soothing herbal teas thanks to their naturally high mucilage content—a plant compound that creates a gentle, slippery coating. This has made Mallow a favourite herb for supporting dry throats, calming irritated digestive systems, and promoting overall comfort.

At Parklane Living, we love growing plants that are as beneficial as they are beautiful. Mallow is a wonderful reminder that many of the most useful plants don't just brighten our gardens—they nurture us and the ecosystems around us.

🌱 Beautiful.
💚 Beneficial.
🌎 Good for people, pollinators, and the planet.
