About Mass Timber Construction
Mass timber construction represents the future of sustainable building. Unlike traditional framing, mass timber projects use large prefabricated panels and beams manufactured off-site and assembled on-site with precision. This requires specialized knowledge of:
• Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) — Large engineered panels for walls, floors, and roofs
• Glulam Beams — Large engineered beam assemblies for structural support
• Engineered Connectors — Specialized bolts, brackets, and fastening systems
• Coordination & Timing — Just-in-time delivery and sequenced assembly
• Quality Control — Tight tolerances and precise alignment critical to structural integrity

Key Responsibilities
On-Site Installation & Assembly
• Read and interpret construction drawings, 3D models, and shop drawings
• Rig, position, and secure CLT panels and glulam beams using cranes, forklifts, and approved rigging equipment
• Install engineered timber connectors (bolts, brackets, fasteners) according to specifications
• Ensure precise alignment and leveling of all components using laser levels, transits, and measurement tools
• Inspect and prepare surfaces before installing panels and beams
• Install shear walls, floor systems, roof assemblies, and other structural components
• Support window and door installation within timber frames
• Apply sealants and moisture barriers as required
Quality & Safety
• Maintain tight tolerances — mass timber requires precision to within 5mm or better
