This fire code repair wasn’t simple at all..🚒🔥

We were called in to bring this commercial building back up to fire code. What looked like a quick repair quickly turned into something much bigger.

After peeling back the layers, we found decades of renovations stacked on top of each other. In buildings that are 100+ years old, that’s often the reality. Sometimes the only way to do it right is to remove everything and start fresh.

So that’s exactly what we did.

-Reframed the entire ceiling
-Built it level, straight, and ready for the next 100 years
-Most importantly, brought the space back into compliance and made it safer for everyone inside.

The best renovations aren’t always the ones you see… they’re the ones that protect the people using the building every day. 🔥

Operation: Who passed these? 🫣

10 years later, these deck footings were completely compromised by frost. There was no saving them.

We removed every failing footing and replaced them with engineered helical screw piles, installed below the frost line into firm soil, giving this deck the foundation it should have had from day one.

Throwing it back to 2021 with one of our favourite projects we’ve ever completed.

This space has since become the home of Absolute Insurance, and transforming it from an empty shell into a functional, modern office was a project we’re incredibly proud of.

Over the next little while, we’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes photos and details from this renovation, from the framing to the finishing touches. It’s a project that challenged our team, showcased what we’re capable of, and remains one of our all-time favourites.
