ATTENTION: Residents of 70 Mile and surrounding areas.

In coordination with the BC Wildfire Service, the TNRD Emergency Operations Centre plans to put an Evacuation Order in place TOMORROW, Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 am. This is due to the projected growth of the Pear Lake wildfire towards the area.

Residents should use the remainder of today to prepare to leave their properties and be ready to depart when the Order comes into effect tomorrow.

This Order is NOT expected to impact South Green Lake, which will remain on Evacuation Alert.

After 10:00 am tomorrow, Emergency Support Services (ESS) will be available for residents affected by the Evacuation Order. ESS can provide temporary assistance, including accommodation, food, and other basic supports. If people choose to evacuate before 10:00 am on Monday the 27th, they will not be eligible for ESS supports until the Order officially comes into place. Based on current fire activity, there is no need to leave the area today.

Please stay informed, follow directions from the TNRD Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and be prepared to leave promptly when the Order takes effect on Monday morning.

As promised… a second announcement!

VerdantScapes Landscaping will be attending not just one event show this spring, but TWO! We will be attending the Cariboo Women’s Fair on May 1st and 2nd.

If you’re 19+ come say hi during the wine and cheese night presented by the South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce $10 admission, and all day Saturday free admission for everyone!
