Green Side Up Environmental Services & Landscaping had the great pleasure of working with all these wonderful partners on a great project to help improve while I breeding habitat in Lake Scugog.

This winter and spring, Kawartha Conservation worked alongside a range of community partners, volunteers, and stewardship supporters to complete a series of shoal enhancement projects across the watershed. The work focused on improving aquatic habitat in select locations to support fish spawning, strengthen ecosystem health, and contribute to long-term watershed resilience.

Shoals play an important role in healthy lake systems, providing shallow, rocky areas that create habitat for fish and other aquatic species. Through collaboration and shared stewardship, this year’s projects brought together local knowledge, conservation expertise, and community commitment to help protect and enhance these important natural features while supporting the overall health of local waterbodies.

On Monday morning, representatives from Kawartha Conservation, Scugog Lake Stewards, the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, community stewardship partners, volunteers, and participating property owners gathered following a series of shoal enhancement projects completed this spring.
