Tykem World Headquarters!

A lot of changes have been going on at Tykem!
We have moved to a new location in Olds and excited at what this space brings.
This space was, and when need be, still be referred to as Niemeyers Supply in Olds where is served the community for decades. Directions seem to still be given by saying “..do you know where the old Niemeyers supply building is??… ya we are located there now.”
A building with history, a building with potential, a building we now call home!
Thank you to everyone who has helped out the last few months to get it to this point. The recent paint upgrade changes the landscape of the area and appreciate .sophisticate and PJL pro painting for doing their thing!!
We appreciate all of the support we have received through the last 10 years and looking forward to serving our customers even more in years to come!
Thanks to our team at Tykem for all their hard work!! Without a great team we can’t serve our customers the way we desire to.
A salute to the past and a look towards the future!!

All sorts of things going on!
In the process of installing string lights for the Town of Olds down Main Street and getting a solar install done every couple weeks for one of our contractors. Lots going on these days at Tykem!

Been radio silence on our social pages and a banger to kick things off again as we try to get more Tykem in your face!!

Got a call for this one and made me chuckle as I thought it was a joke. Sure enough the majestic Canadian goose lost a battle with this grain bin.

Bucket truck for the win, in a way I never would have imagined!!

Spring time means time to move some dirt!!

We have started back at the race track with Rocky Mountain Motorsports. This race track is just off Highway 2 at the Carstairs overpass and is gonna be a site to see when it's complete.

We are excited to be back this year getting power and communications cables in the ground for cameras and electronic flag panels around the perimeter of the track.

Custom build time in Fernie!

Team Tykem went interprovincial this week to rough in a custom home in Fernie.

Full ICF (insulated concrete forms) from footing to rafters which adds another element to the rough in. Cutting foam to run wires in exterior walls instead of drilling through wood.

Great week! Guys crushed it! Now back home to Alberta to pick up where we left off

Starlink set ups are easy. Elon says just plug it in!

What he doesn't mention is getting the cable from the roof to the basement through attics, walls, floors and ceilings!

We have more and more of these installs being requested and are happy to get them up out of the way!

For rural internet it seems to be the way of the future.

The infamous buried wires!

We have had some reno's over the last month and there always seems to be some surprises as soon as walls get opened up

Buried splices are more common than people may think. Every time there is a splice, it has to be accessible. For safety and future troubleshooting reasons.

If you are thinking about tackling a project yourself, do it right. If you ask yourself "I wonder if this is right" chances are, maybe it's not!
