Up to $90,000 less in solar incentive funding will be available after June 30.

Eligible Ontario facilities can currently access Save on Energy incentives of up to $860,000 for solar projects. Effective July 1, the maximum available funding will be reduced to $770,000.

➡️ For facilities planning a solar project, submitting before the June 30 deadline can make a significant difference in available incentive funding and project economics.

➡️ June 30 is the last day to qualify for the current incentive level.

Industrial facilities across Ontario are sitting on thousands of square feet of unused rooftop, space that can generate on-site electricity and directly reduce what you pay for power.
For Class A manufacturers, behind-the-meter solar does something most energy strategies don't: it reduces your grid draw during Ontario's 5 peak hours, which is exactly what determines your Global Adjustment charges for the following year.
The economics are stronger than most assume:
✔ Federal Clean Technology ITC — up to 30% of system cost back as a refundable tax credit
✔ Save On Energy Retrofit Program — up to $860K/MW in available incentives (changing June 30, 2026)
✔ Accelerated CCA Class 43.2 — 100% first-year write-off
✔ GA reduction through 5CP peak shaving
✔ 25-year system life with predictable, fixed-cost generation

Every year you delay on-site generation is another year you absorb grid price increases you can't control. Ontario facilities with available roof space have a real alternative. We'll model the economics for your site — no obligation.

Most Ontario manufacturers don't realize the peaks happening right now are setting their electricity bill for next year.
Here's how it works: Class A facilities under the Industrial Conservation Initiative (ICI) have their Global Adjustment charges determined by their demand during Ontario's 5 highest peak hours of the year.

That means every summer hour you're running at full load, unmanaged and unprotected is quietly writing your 2027 energy bill.
The IESO's own data shows Ontario GA rates swung from -3.28¢/kWh in February to 9.95¢/kWh by May 2026. The pool is growing. The stakes are higher than they were last year.

Facilities that are acting now are:
✔ Installing BESS to automatically discharge during peak windows
✔ Shifting non-critical loads away from high-risk hours
✔ Modelling their current 5CP exposure before peak season hits

The ones who wait until fall will be optimizing for 2028 at best.
If you manage a Class A facility in Ontario and haven't reviewed your load profile this spring, that review needs to happen this month.

Ontario commercial and industrial solar incentives are decreasing.
Effective June 30, 2026, Save on Energy will reduce its solar incentive from $860/kW to $770/kW.
For many businesses, a 10% reduction may sound minor. At industrial scale, it isn't.
⚡ 250 kW project: up to $22,500 less in funding
⚡ 500 kW project: up to $45,000 less in funding
⚡ 1 MW project: up to $90,000 less in funding

The Save on Energy Retrofit program is not ending, but future projects will be eligible for lower incentive funding.
For Ontario manufacturers and commercial facility owners evaluating solar, the June 30 deadline could have a meaningful impact on project economics, payback periods, and ROI.

From above, the scale of this 1 MW Solar Energy System is hard to miss. ⚡
This recently completed rooftop solar installation in Ontario transforms available roof space into a source of clean, on-site electricity. Designed to support long-term cost savings and energy resilience, the system is now delivering value where it matters most: at the facility itself.

By generating power on-site, facilities can reduce their reliance on grid electricity, better manage energy costs, and make more effective use of existing assets.

Proud to showcase another completed solar project helping an Ontario facility take greater control of its energy future.

World Environment Day is a reminder that sustainability is an ongoing priority including in manufacturing.
Across Ontario, more facilities are looking at practical ways to reduce environmental impact while improving how they manage energy.
That means thinking about things like:
✓ Smarter energy use
✓ Onsite generation
✓ Greater energy resilience
✓ More predictable long-term energy costs

The goal isn’t one or the other.
It’s finding approaches that support environmental progress and stronger operations at the same time.
