RGB Light

Looking for a pop of colour? Barrisol can be backlit with white or colored lighting to create a nuanced effect. This "Wunderbar" 3D installation at Hotel W in Montreal is a personal favorite. I love the curves and boldness of the lighting.

Sony Pictures ImageWorks

Here are a couple of "in progress' pics of the Barrisol Lumiere ceiling that we recently installed at Sony Pictures ImageWorks.

Located in the heart of Vancouver, the new Sony Pictures Imageworks Headquarters represents a pinnacle of modern studio design. The installation features a large-scale, custom-shaped luminous ceiling that mirrors the organic curves of the studio's interior architecture. This high-performance Barrisol membrane provides a seamless, shadow-free glow that enhances the work environment for the world-class animators and visual effects artists at Sony, perfectly blending the building's historic heritage with "state-of-the-art" innovation.

GET TO KNOW OUR CREW: Scott

Scott came to us with a background in landscaping. He is driven, hard working, reliable and humble. He quickly became a core member of our team, working on both Barrisol stretch ceilings Woodworks renovations.

When he is not working you may find him visiting family in Pemberton, on the golf course, or exploring the West Coast.
Scott is smart, personable, and a natural athlete, even mastering "underhand axe throwing" during our last holiday outing.

Scott not only feels like family, he is family with Sawyer, which is how he affectionately became known as "Cousin Scott".

FLASHBACK FRIDAY: UBC Aquatic Centre

In 2016, we completed this vertical and translucent Barrisol application, designed to create a "screen" effect between the two pool areas.

Barrisol stretch ceilings are mold resistant, water impermeable, and help to improve room acoustics, making them an excellent choice for aquatic centers and residential pools.

We are proud to say that after 10 years, no service or maintenance calls have been requested. Barrisol ceilings are truly an excellent long term solution for the harsh environment of swimming pools.

WINE ROOM - ARTOLIS PRINT

This West Vancouver wine room features the Emily Carr painting Big Raven, printed on the Barrisol's Artolis wall fabric. Thanks to the Vancouver Art Gallery for their work providing the graphic file. We look forward to a continued relationship with the VAG to bring your print projects to fruition. This wine room was part of a larger home renovation.

GET TO KNOW OUR CREW: Ben

Ben is an invaluable member of our team completing both Woodworks home renovations and Barrisol stretch ceiling installations.

He has a big smile and heart, can rock a Hawaiian shirt, is an excellent athlete (hockey & golf to name a couple) and enjoys cooking. He recently gifted us homemade dill pickles from a family recipe! Fantastic.

Ben's generous and kind-hearted spirit adds a brightness to our team. He is always ready to lend a hand and a smile.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY: Now and Then

THEN: Mike Peacock shortly after his initial Barrisol training in 2002 (they nicknamed him the Canadian Rocket!) and one of our early Buildex Vancouver booths to help promote the Barrisol stretch ceiling system. We won best booth in 2011.

NOW: Mike, this year in our new 2600sqft workshop space. We are fast approaching 25 years in partnership with Barrisol and look forward to many more years of interesting projects to come.

With FIFA events happening in Vancouver and the NHL draft set for tomorrow, my mind is on sports. This condo building in Burnaby, BC includes a bowling alley in its amenities. The geometric Barrisol ceiling creates a subtle yet powerful 3D effect. Anyone feel like a game?

Copper Point Resort - Pool Ceilings

These white lacquer Barrisol pool ceilings are located at the Copper Point Resort in Invermere, BC. We installed them in 2010. With the arrival of hot summer weather, this seems like the perfect place to be. Maybe you will find us poolside!
