We’re saying farewell to our summer interns Mick, Elena, Jon, Jack, and Solomon.

Over the past few months, they’ve jumped into the world of lumber trading, asked great questions, and brought fresh energy to the team. We appreciate the work they put in and wish them all the best in what’s next.

Thanks for a great summer. You’ll be missed around the office. 👋

Great way to spend an afternoon away from the desks. Some close matches, a few surprises, and a lot of good-natured competition across the team.

Healthy forests don't happen by accident.

As Canada faces another challenging wildfire season, it's a reminder that sustainable forest management is about much more than harvesting trees.

Responsible forest management includes reforestation, monitoring forest health, reducing wildfire risk where appropriate, protecting biodiversity, and ensuring forests remain healthy and productive for generations to come.

Wildfires are a complex issue with no single cause or solution. But investing in long-term forest stewardship is one of the many ways we can help build more resilient forests.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the wildfires across Canada and with the crews working tirelessly to protect lives, communities, and our forests.

Drew and Sam recently spent time at a remanufacturing facility getting a closer look at the manufacturing process and seeing firsthand how products move from raw material through production.

Spending time on the manufacturing floor provides valuable context that simply can't be learned from behind a desk. It helps strengthen product knowledge, deepen industry understanding, and ultimately allows us to better support our customers.

It's been a busy few weeks on the logistics desk.

Our interns and Commodity Trader Trainees have been right in the middle of it, booking trucks, coordinating shipments, and helping keep orders moving across North America.

There's a lot that happens between placing an order and seeing lumber arrive on site, and it's been great to watch them gain hands-on experience in one of the most important parts of the business.

A meaningful new addition to the office.

This year, we introduced custom, hand-painted saw blades created by local Indigenous artist .kwaksistala.

For us, these pieces carry a strong connection to the forest products sector, while also bringing Indigenous artistry into our everyday office space in a thoughtful and visible way.

They are a reflection of the industry we work in, the materials we’re connected to, and the importance of recognizing the artists and communities whose work adds meaning to the spaces we share.

We’re proud to have them displayed in the office.

Our team recently travelled to Coeur d'Alene for the Inland Lumber Producers (ILP) Golf Tournament, where Drew, Jon, Sam, and Marilyn spent time connecting with customers, suppliers, and colleagues from across the lumber industry.

Thank you to the ILP for bringing everyone together. We always appreciate the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and build new relationships.

Two familiar faces are back in the office.

We’re excited to welcome Andy Quinn and Richter Heintz back to Olympic as Trader Trainees.

Andy completed an internship with us last summer and recently graduated from Queen’s University this May.

Richter completed a Trainee contract with us in May and now returns to continue growing with the team.

We’re proud to have them both back and excited to support them as they take this next step in their careers.

Welcome back, Andy and Richter.

Congratulations to Denzel on his promotion from Junior Trader to Trader.

Denzel first joined Olympic through an internship in January 2025, bringing the same focus and work ethic he developed while completing his final year at UBC and finishing his varsity football career.

Since then, he has continued to learn the industry, build his trading foundation, and grow into this next step with the team.

We’re proud to see Denzel move into a Trader role and excited for what’s ahead.

Congratulations, Denzel. Well deserved.
