Some projects are more than just landscapes. They become legacies.

It was an incredible honour and privilege to have The Great Canadian Landscaping Company recognized with the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) National Award of Excellence for Residential Landscape Installation for our project, Homage to Aker, on Bowen Island, BC.

Having spent over 26 years building our company and working alongside some of the most talented people in our industry, moments like these remind me why I fell in love with landscaping in the first place.

Projects like Homage to Aker are legacy projects. They are the kind of projects that challenge us, inspire us, and push us to elevate our craft. They are not simply about creating beautiful outdoor spaces, but about building something meaningful that will stand the test of time, connect people with nature, and be appreciated for generations to come.

What makes this recognition particularly special is knowing how many talented individuals contributed to bringing this vision to life. From Thomas Kyle at TKL Design Inc, our dedicated crews, suppliers and client who trusted us with their vision, this award belongs to everyone who played a part.

I am especially proud of our team. Their passion, perseverance, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are what make projects of this calibre possible.

Awards are wonderful, but the real reward is knowing we have created something that will outlive our involvement and leave a lasting impression for generations.

A sincere thank you to the CNLA for this incredible recognition, to our project partners for their collaboration, and to our clients for giving us the opportunity to be part of something truly extraordinary.

Here's to continuing to raise the bar for our industry and creating landscapes that become part of someone's legacy.

A beautiful landscape should do more than look incredible - it should support the environment around it.

Flowering lavender, hydrangeas, and a diverse mix of perennials don’t just add vibrant colour and texture to your property; they also create valuable habitat and food sources for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects that keep our gardens healthy and thriving.

Lavender attracts bees and pollinators all summer long while filling your outdoor space with incredible fragrance.

Hydrangeas provide long-lasting blooms that add beauty from summer into fall, with many varieties also offering pollen and shelter for beneficial insects.

Perennials return year after year, creating a resilient landscape that supports biodiversity while reducing maintenance and seasonal replanting.

Healthy pollinator populations mean healthier gardens. By choosing the right plants, you’re investing in a landscape that’s beautiful, sustainable, and buzzing with life.

We believe every landscape can help build a healthier ecosystem.

Plant with purpose. Bloom with nature.
