Hello all.. I keep getting calls and messages from you guys, and after the hard work I put in last year building Rugged Roofing in North Bay, it shows that I was appreciated, and I thank you all, it’s truly touching. 🙏 Unfortunately, I can humbly say I have fallen on hard times, after a series of major disasters and am stuck still truckless in the East Coast…. after a string of luck this bad, all I can do is laugh, and try something rather than nothing to deal with my inability to go anywhere from this remote place I’m stuck in with no wheels, and decided to try starting a merch shop. 🤷‍♂️
Better than doing nothing right? As great as things were it’s insane that things went the way they did, so here ya go, have a laugh at my expense.. I sure did! 😅
No worries here, something will break eventually, and I WILL recover, but for now, I am stuck doing odd jobs landscaping and babysitting nearby, living the simple life, and making the best of it.
You all know, that I will once recovered be putting a weeks worth of work hours in every two days, so might as well enjoy it while I can right?
Anyways, just wanted to update you all, and apologize for not being around to serve the community this season. Thank you all for being so awesome last year when I was there, and I’ll hopefully see you all next roofing season by the looks of things.

Rugged Roofing is proud to say, we will now not only be serving North Bay, Ont. but also Moncton N.B. and surrounding area! I have been planning and discussing with some close friends local to Moncton, who are educated, qualified, and dear to me, on how they can pick up some slack on the sales, and administration end to help free up some more of my time, to handle the extra workload, and logistics. I will be back in North Bay for a short time, doing a few quotes, a roofing project, and an inspection on a leaky roof, before returning to Moncton for another project beginning of March. At this time, we will be integrating some key personal, into our system of operations, teaching, learning, and planning for a prosperous 2025 season, in both Ontario & New Brunswick!

Loading the second half of the roof yesterday. Of course another overconfident, and inexperienced man doesn’t work out, and I’m here by myself. Lo and behold, welcome to the roofing industry. Should hit the half way point today, before taking time off before the holidays, and will be back on the 27h for another run to finish! Will beat the 3 week deadline by a week. Next half will go faster without the distractions of having to coach an incompetent worker. Everyone seems happy with how things are going. Had one of the guys say that I am blowing the last 4-man crew out of the water! 👌💪🤙

Found us a little project down East in Fredericton N.B. So I could visit some family over the winter and holidays.
By the time we got the paperwork, training, toolbox meetings, and equipment inspections done yesterday, we were still able to get half the underlay on. They wanted a 4-man crew minimum with a 3 week deadline. I’m pushing for a week long project with just two of us.
Sunday won’t count, as there is no operator here on the weekend to put the shingles up. Wish us luck! 💪

A roof recently done to perfection. Estimated 7 sheets of plywood on this one, found only the need to replace and charge for 4 saving the homeowner some money on the final bill. Actually went the extra mile and used strips at the bottom rather than replacing the entire sheet, (more work) to save on the final bill, and still deliver a high standard of quality.
No need to dig our hands in our clients pockets here at Rugged Roofing. We’re here to HELP!

This roof is only 1 year old. I will be going to fix it on Wednesday. He’s had leaks in his garage, which I will tend to right away. Next year he will need his chimney redone, and I will be re-flashing it once the brick work is done.
Missing metal, metal there done improperly, left ugly as well, on such a beautiful new home he moved into last year, right after the roof was done. Such an atrocity.
Choose Rugged Roofing, and avoid the costly repairs from incompetent roofers! 😉

Here’s a great example of why choosing the right company matters. This roof is only 6-7 years old (half lifespan) and though it looked picture perfect and straight, I did repairs on it valued at $1800 (granted I did give the guy a break on value)
So… saving a thousand bucks, isn’t necessarily the route you should take. Keep in mind interior damages, could range between a couple thousand, to thousands of dollars if the roof is done improperly.

Everyone these days, loves to show all their great times, and successes, but never talks too much about the hard times, the pain, and the struggle. (including me) I thought I would take a moment to make a post, as a metaphor…. No one ever really knows what a person has gone through, sacrificed, or had happen to them, out of their control, that held them back behind an expectation of them. Be kind…. You have no idea how much…
“blood, sweat, and tears”,
a person has endured in their path, to fight through a thorn bush patch, on their way to their destination.
Nobody’s life, and/or path is EVER exactly as it seems.
We all want to be positive, we want to smile and be happy despite hardships and struggle.. it is a natural selfless nature we have as humans, so as not to burden those around us.
So.. let’s take a moment to be empathetic, and realize that, our perception of a person….. is ONLY our perception, not fact!
Why compete, when we can work together to build each other up? Why not be selfless whenever we can? Never give of yourself, if it’s going to hurt you, your money, or your reputation but.. do WHAT you can, WHEN you can….
Let’s make Canada Great again! One trucker, one person, and one entrepreneur at a time!
