Was a great sit down with Paul Meyers. What a great guy!! He is a networking master and North Bay Local is a great place to be!!!!

I sat down this week with Adam Harwood, who owns Harwood Plumbing & Heating in North Bay. His dad Dennis started the company in 1991. Adam joined in 2006 and bought it in 2023.

Two things stuck with me.

The first was how he got into the trade. His dad threw every dirty job he could at him, the crawl spaces, the sewage, the blocked sewers, because he didn't want Adam to be a plumber just because he was one. Adam came back every day with a smile. Eventually his dad agreed he was doing it because he liked it.

The second was what he's doing about the cost of a new furnace. When one quits in the middle of winter, most people don't have that kind of money sitting in the bank. So Harwood now offers financing, leasing and rental equipment, the kind of thing you used to need a big out of town company for. And if it breaks, the people who installed it are the people who come to fix it.

There were eleven people on the team when Adam took over. Today there are nineteen. What he wants next is simple: when your tap is leaking, he doesn't want you to have to look up who to call.

Here at Harwood Plumbing and Heating we feel that recognition is a very much deserved thing now a days. you always here the bad but no one likes to reach out with the good!!
