- seasoned with a double coat of food safe board oil to bring out the rich walnut grain.

I have a policy that I stick to when working with clients:

i) I will use photos of their completed project for promotional purposes unless asked not to for privacy reasons; and,
ii) I won't post the pictures until after a specific date so that they have a chance to surprise the recipient(s) of their gift/award/art etc.

With that in mind I've really wanted to post this particular project since I completed it!

Individual awards that I was honoured to make for a knight fighting tournament in the Yukon, delivered to Company of the White Wolf .

The majority of my custom work starts with a client contacting me with an idea or sending me a picture of something they like. From there I work with them to design a piece that matches their vision.

This is a simple piece for a friend recently. I got to try a new technique integrating names directly into the cut, and we we're pleased with the results.

The finished piece is 23x7 inches with a two-tone contrasting stain highlight.

I worked closely with the client to reproduce the exact gift that they had in their mind. All of the fine laser-cut details are three-dimensional and assembled by hand to create a classic looking wall piece.

Black Forest Woodcraft recently finished an order for the The Work Shoppe . It started with a quick back and forth over text about their idea, and we got to work designing something to meet their needs. Through our collaberation we came up with a fun art activity that would result in a beautiful custom piece for your wall.

Compound lens test day!

Using compound lenses in my laser allows me to get ultra-fine details for pictures. This is done by passing the laser beam through two lenses, one of which focuses the beam into a very tiny dot on the face of the material. The end result is more dots-per-inch which means more detailed pictures.

Expect a lot more pictures now that I have this capability.

Another barrel stave charcuterie board done.

The piece is made from upcycled oak barrel staves. I worked with the client to design the graphics, which were then laser engraved into the wood.

The board is finished in food safe oil for serving and I really like the deep coloured grain from the wine soaked into the wood.
