On February 12 at Tank Smarts in Calgary, Dave and Katelyn from Sandborn delivered an insightful presentation on the latest in VOC regulations, floating roof inspections, and LEL inspection requirements.

They covered key elements of the Reduction in the Release of Volatile Organic Compounds (SOR-2025-88), including how the updated federal rules affect VOC emissions control for storage tanks and loading operations, inspection intervals, and documentation expectations.

Their session also explained practical inspection strategies for both internal and external floating roofs — including LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) measurements — to help facility operators stay compliant and improve safety outcomes under the new regulatory framework.
