Custom bathroom renovation complete. 🔨🚿

This space received a major transformation, starting with the removal of the old jacuzzi tub and redesigning the layout to create a much more open, functional bathroom.

The centrepiece is the new custom walk-in tiled shower, featuring a built-in foot ledge, custom niche, rain head and handheld shower system. We added a half wall with custom glass to keep the shower open while allowing the natural light from the window to flow throughout the space.

The renovation also included:
• New tiled bathroom and shower floors
• Custom glass shower enclosure
• Built-in foot ledge & niche
• Dedicated makeup table/vanity area
• New closet for additional storage
• Updated trim and finishing details
• A cleaner, brighter and more functional layout

Removing the oversized jacuzzi tub gave us the room to completely rethink this bathroom while keeping the natural light that makes the space feel so open.

🚿 FROM TEMPLATE TO PERFECT SLOPE 🚿

A properly tiled shower base starts long before the tile gets set.

For this custom shower, we used the envelope-cut method to maintain the large-format tile look while creating consistent drainage from every direction.

📐 Template & Layout — The shower floor is carefully measured and templated first, mapping out every envelope cut before touching the finished tile.

✏️ Dry Layout & Marking — Tiles are laid out, numbered and individually marked so the pattern stays consistent and all cuts meet cleanly at the drain.

🪚 Precision Envelope Cuts — Each tile is cut on the proper angle, allowing the large-format tile to follow the shower pan slope without lippage or fighting the natural pitch.

💧 Waterproofed with Schluter® — The shower assembly is fully waterproofed before tile installation, with seams, corners and transitions properly treated.

🔨 Installation — Every section is set while maintaining the required pitch toward the drain. The envelope cuts create multiple flat planes that all direct water exactly where it needs to go.

✅ Finished Result — Clean lines, tight joints, minimal lippage and a consistent slope from every corner to the drain.

The finished product may look simple — but getting a large-format tiled shower floor right comes down to the prep, layout and precision behind it.

🚿 WATERPROOFED & TILE READY 🔨

A custom shower is only as good as what’s underneath the tile.

Here’s a look at this bathroom before and after waterproofing. We used the Schluter® waterproofing system to properly prep and protect the shower before moving on to tile installation.

✅ Shower prep complete
✅ Schluter® waterproofing installed
✅ Seams & penetrations properly sealed
✅ Built for long-term protection
✅ Now TILE READY! 👌

The finished tile is what everyone sees—but proper waterproofing is what makes a bathroom renovation last.

Big shoutout to Schluter-Systems North America for the products that help us build it right from the start. 🧡

Stay tuned for the tile transformation. 👀🔥

🛁 BEFORE ➡️ AFTER | COMPLETE BATHROOM TRANSFORMATION

Hard to believe this is the same bathroom. 👀

This space started out dated, worn and in need of a complete overhaul. We stripped it back, opened up the walls and rebuilt the bathroom from the ground up — turning a tired space into something bright, clean and modern.

The transformation included:

* 🔨 Full demolition and rebuild
* 🚿 New tub & shower system with matte black fixtures
* ⬜ Marble-look tile carried throughout the tub surround
* 🛁 New bathtub
* 💧 Updated plumbing where required
* 🪞 Large LED backlit round mirror
* 💡 Modern vanity lighting
* 🗄️ New white vanity with integrated sink and added storage
* 🚽 New toilet
* 🖤 Black faucet, hardware and accessories for contrast
* 🧰 Custom wall-mounted storage cabinet
* 🪟 Fresh white window casing and trim
* 🎨 Bold blue walls to give the room some personality
* 🔲 New dark tile flooring
* ✨ Fresh ceiling, baseboards, paint and finishing details

One of our favourite parts of renovations like this is seeing what’s hiding behind the walls and then watching the entire space come back together.

Swipe ➡️ to see where we started, the demolition, and the finished transformation.

Which part made the biggest difference — the tile, blue walls, black fixtures or LED mirror? 👇
