MSB Mechanical is proud to share continued progress at Westmount Collegiate Institute.

Phase 1 of the project is now complete, which included a full re-pipe of the building’s heating system, installation of new high-efficiency boilers, and replacement of all associated mechanical piping to improve system performance, reliability, and long-term sustainability.

Phase 2 is now underway, with demolition of the existing cooling plant in progress, including the removal of all chillers, pumps, and related piping infrastructure as preparations begin for the next stage of system modernization.

We’re proud to support York Region District School Board in delivering safe, efficient, and reliable mechanical upgrades that enhance learning environments for students and staff.

Putting the finishing touches on the Dorsay Community & Heritage Centre, a new 44,000 sq. ft. multi-use facility for the City of Pickering.

The project integrates a Museum, Library, and Community Centre within a single building envelope and is fully supported by complete mechanical systems, including domestic water, sanitary and storm plumbing, hydronic heating, ventilation, and centralized HVAC systems providing year-round heating and cooling throughout the facility.

All systems have been coordinated to meet performance, efficiency, and code requirements for a modern public building.

Winter doesn’t stop construction, it raises the bar.

Construction in Ontario isn’t glamorous, and it rarely happens in perfect conditions. At the Western North York Community Centre, our team is completing underground sleeving work as winter conditions begin to set in - laying the groundwork for the next phase of underground services in coordination with Pomerleau.

Cold temperatures, snow management, and temporary site conditions require extra planning, coordination, and a constant focus on safety. This phase highlights how much preparation and teamwork go into a successful project long before anything rises above grade.

Underground work will be ramping up shortly, and we’re proud of the professionalism our crews bring to site - adapting to changing conditions and keeping work moving safely and efficiently. This project will continue taking shape into 2026.

Our team is currently installing:
- New plumbing systems
- Complete HVAC upgrades
- Custom ductwork
- A new dust-collection system
- Misting showers and specialty lab mechanical components
