It's going to feel like -23 this morning in Durham Region and although we're not expecting snow, it's important to keep our furry friends warm and comfortable during this deep freeze.
Keep your dog walking route shorter, put on that extra layer of a coat, and remember to wash their paws off if they come in contact with salt on the roads and

A few years back, our client made the right decision to include Sno Gems choosing a metal roofing system, keeping the heavy snow from sliding down on this commercial space at Newcastle Eye Care in downtown Newcastle.

In southern Ontario around the lake, we've avoided a heavy snowfall far, but just an hour or 2 north of us has seen epic snowfalls of up to 7 feet in cottage county.
Let's hope Mother Nature is kind to us and doesn't send these deep snowfalls our way anytime soon.

When you're out doing your Holiday Shopping, pick up some much-needed items to give to the Clarington East Food Bank, located at 250 Mill St. South in the Village of Newcastle. Their hours of operation are: Tuesdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 pm and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 pm.
The need is so great this year, as people are forced to ask for help with prices rising on absolutely everything, and the CEFB struggles to keep up with demand. Check their wish list for the most needed items, including food, household goods, and personal hygiene products.

Unfortunately, bad weather last week meant that T.H.E.E. Farmers Parade had to be cancelled, but good news, it's rescheduled for December 17th!

'WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE TUESDAY DECEMBER 17th IS CONFIRMED! Thank you to DRPS for the support!

T.H.E.E. Parade will begin at approx. 5:15pm at Old Scugog Rd and Concession 9, North of Enniskillen and reach the town limits at approx 5:30pm.

It will proceed South through Enniskillen, crossing Concession 8 (also known as Durham Regional Rd 3).

Once reaching concession 7, T.H.E.E. Parade will turn left heading East. It will cross HWY 57 (also known as Bowmanville Ave) until it ends at The Tyrone Community Centre.

Things to remember:
1. Pack your patience. The parade is popular and draws large crowds. Please respect fellow parade participants and motorists.

3. Tractors will travel on the south and eastbound sides of the road. Leave the right side of the road clear for tractors to travel freely.
4. Dress for the weather. Warm clothes, hats and gloves are encouraged.
5. Durham East 4-H will be collecting non-perishables for local food banks.'
