This Saturday, August 29, we'll be at Canada Place for Port Day, presented by the Port of Vancouver - Port de Vancouver. We're joining the Maritime Career Zone to talk with anyone curious about a career on the water and land. This year we're also a partner of Canada Place's 40th Anniversary, a milestone tied closely to the growth of BC's port and the industry we've worked alongside for a century. The event is free, family-friendly and has something for all ages - if you're around Saturday between 11am and 4pm, come say hello!

🇨🇦Summer on the waterfront has a way of reminding you why this work matters. Today we're taking a moment to appreciate the projects, the places, and the people we get to do it alongside. Here's to the season of sunshine ahead. Wishing everyone a safe and happy day, wherever you're spending it.🇨🇦

This year's Day of the Seafarer theme, "From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence," reflects something our vessel crews and tug crews demonstrate on every shift. The standards and training that exist on paper come to life in the hands of the people doing the work. We're grateful for the skill, steadiness and excellence they bring to every project.

Thirty years ago, June 21 was designated as a day for Canada to recognize and celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. For FRPD, working on and alongside the waters and lands that Indigenous communities have stewarded for generations, this day is a consistent reminder of what it means to operate with that history in mind. We're grateful for the relationships that have shaped our work, and for the knowledge that continues to inform it.

The work we do carries real risk, and that's something we hold seriously every day. On the National Day of Mourning, we pause to remember workers who have lost their lives, suffered injury, or been made ill on the job — and to recommit to the responsibility we carry as an organization, an industry partner, and a community member. Every person on every site deserves to come home. We carry that forward not just today, but in the decisions we make every day.

Proud to have supported the SEAandSKY Pedestrian Bridge project alongside Jacob Bros Construction and the full project team in Squamish. Complex lifts in a marine environment take steady coordination across every trade — glad our team was part of making this one happen!

April is Construction Month in British Columbia - a time to recognize the work that goes into building the infrastructure communities depend on, above ground and below the waterline. This year's theme is Built Right, and it's one we relate to not just this month, but all year long. From marine construction and dredging to land foundation work, doing it right is the standard we hold ourselves to on every project, every site.
