This is what happens when Glenda lets the grass take control of the milkweed bed. Most of the milkweed doesn’t even grow although it still has healthy looking roots. Don’t be like Glenda. Tackle that grass before it takes over completely. You will save yourself a lot of work.
After several hours she got most of the roots out, replanted the milkweed, and hauled away a full tractor bucket of roots. She will try harder next year! But she is not so naive to think some of the grass won’t make an appearance again. But it should be easier to dig.

PUMPKINS
Now that I have had 80 grade one students hunt through the pumpkin patch for the remaining pumpkins I have even more available.
The blue and blush varieties are great for both decorating and cooking/baking while the white are mostly used for decorating. A few squash are also available. Buttercup, mashed potato varieties
$10 for large or three for $25 or $8 for medium.

A couple bouquets ready to be delivered this morning, a cooler full of flowers ready to be worked with later today, an abundance of orange gladiolus looking for a new home (message me if you are wanting this cheery bouquet for someone), and a garden full of flowers waiting to be picked. Meanwhile, the weeds call me. The last photo I saw on another post and had to use it here…except my weeds are sow thistle.

I have been back from my trip to Switzerland for over a week now but what a busy week it has been. The weeds did really well while I was away so frantic weeding has taken place. I’ve also had a few larger u-pick groups so I have not advertised u-pick evenings. If you are interested in u-pick please let me know. Grab a few friends and we can schedule a time that suits us all. The flowers are plentiful. The rainy morning did not deter this bridal party and the cooler temps make strolling the paths in search of the perfect flowers so enjoyable. In between I managed to get a bunch of applesauce into the freezer.
