Another busy weekend despite thunderstorms cutting the day short today.

Saturday, I visited my neighboring clients in Kingston. Some w**ding, transplanting and a new Rose of Sharon went in at the first property. I even had time to trim back some potted flowers for a wedding next week.

Next door, the new gardens I installed last time got some much needed mulch. Everything is looking so healthy for just a few weeks in and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

In Amherstview, I removed a standard hydrangea that didn't make it through the winter. I also w**ded and fertilized the gardens, adding some extra gladiolus for even more colour this season.

I finished the day up in Napanee with some watering. We planted some new plants here just before my client left on vacation so I've been making sure things stay well watered while she's away.

Watering was no an issue today however as Thunderstorms interrupted my day only a few hours in. Still, I managed to remove two Eunonymous and replace them with three Blue Chip Junipers. I also planted a Black Lace Elderberry, a pot of annuals and a cheery Dahlia.

Since this is as close to a day off as I'm going to get, I'll spend some time relaxing at home, until tomorrow that is.

Garden maintenance continues in Picton, Wellington, West Lake & Napanee!

In Picton, lots of w**ding in the cliffside gardens. We planted some Sedums & Shrubs in this rock face years ago which has helped reduced the number of w**ds significantly. They are all growing well but will do even better now that they aren't competing with the w**ds. In addition to w**ding, I also did some trimming and edging work. It makes such a difference having clean lines!

I spent more time w**ding at another clients in Picton. Bindw**d and Garlic mustard are very prevalent here but with biweekly maintenance, I'm able to keep them to a minimum.

In Napanee, I filled some planters with beautiful shade plants from daisies 'n dirt

These mostly shaded gardens really struggled before I started. Now between the growing perennials and splashes of annuals, it's looking great! Out front, in the full sun garden, I cut back some Tulips and planted some Lilies, a favorite of my clients! I also popped a Dahlia in there, just for good measure.

Today in Wellington and West Lake, my primary goal was w**ding. These large lakeside properties boast huge, stunning gardens. Of course with huge gardens come lots of w**ds. Thankfully, I'm here weekly so the w**ds don't stand a chance.

Now I'm off to volunteer at my kids end of year school carnival- wish me luck!

I see a lot of AI gardens, AI plants and AI landscaping businesess posted across social media lately. New accounts using fake AI and/or stolen content from real businesses to make themselves seem like a legitimate business that's been running for years.

On a personal level, I am not a fan of AI. On a professional level, as a business, whose goal it is to improve the environment, educate the public and make the world a little bit better, it seems counterintuitive to use AI.

My website, business cards, signs, hats, t-shirts and every single post was all me. I have been making everything well before AI came out.

I'm not ignorant to the benefits of AI but I also can't ignore the downfalls. As a creative who enjoys making, building and growing things, AI just doesn't really have a place here.

To be clear, I'm not against people making their own choices. I just want to warn others to look closely and to make my choice abundantly clear.

Lots more garden work as I continue with maintenance for my clients.

In Picton, I cleared out another area of w**ds for mulching. This property has huge gardens all around it but the w**ds are very competitive. Since this is my first season here, the goal is to manage the worst of it and get everything mulched. When all is said and done we will have used 13 cubic yards of mulch here. Out front, I replaced some Hydrangeas that never really thrived with a variety that can handle this part-shade spot.

At the next property, I spent some time w**ding the gardens. These gardens are all about a year old and so invasive w**ds competing for resources could really cause some damage. Thankfully, I'm here weekly to manage it and to capture all the beautiful new blooms.

Today, I tried (and failed) to beat the rain and thunderstorms. I started in Picton where I planted 70 new native plant plugs. Coneflower, Black Eyed Susan, Little Bluestem Grass, Coreopsis and Dense Blazing Star will add lots of colour and bring even more life to these gardens.

My last stop coincided with a downpour and eventually thunderstorms that ended my day a bit early. Still, I was able to clean up the herb and flower planters, w**d around the new plants I added last time and edge all the front shaded gardens. If I had to be caught in the rain working, this lovely sheltered and shaded garden sure was the right place to do it!

It may seem early but suppliers don't wait!

I'll be placing a fall bulb order (Tulips, Daffodils, Alliums, Hyacinth, Muscari etc...) in the next few days.

If you are looking for any special bulbs, please let me know by the end of the week so I can see about getting them for you!

In addition to a full schedule, I also maintain three volunteer gardens. Over the last week, I was able to tidy up and plant all three Gardens.

The first is the Southview Pollinator Garden. In it's fourth year, this garden was planted with native plants and now just gets a few annuals to fill it out. Every year the kindergarten class helps me plant over 30 plants in this space. This year, I even had some donated plants thanks to ! Watching the kids select and plant their flowers always brings me so much joy.

Next on the list was the King Street pollinator garden. My kids and the dog are always up for a trip to the park so I can work on this garden. We added some more annuals, fresh compost and fertilizer to help things along.

The last garden is my volunteer garden with at Conservation Park. This garden got a ton of new annuals, some replacement lavender and phlox and even some more Dino Kale since it did so well here last season.

It may seem like alot (and it is) but gardening isn't just my job, it encompasses so much of what I love. Fresh air, connection to nature, connection to people and connection to the world around us. If I can pass on that love, curiosity and wonder to others, well, even better.

Lots of planting over the last few days. My neighboring clients in Waupoos alone had my van full of supplies.

At one location we planted some Coral Peonies, Blue flag Iris, and Sunflowers. I also staked some of the other sunflowers we'd already planted and did some w**ding to tidy up.

Next door, at my new clients (this year), I replaced most of the plants that didn't make it through past winters. Quite a few Lavender were lost at this location and they've already replaced multiple Hydrangeas. In an effort to reduce the constant loss of plants, I recommended some alternatives as replacements. Those plants went in on Sunday, completely transforming the look of the front gardens. I also potted up some planters for some extra colour. I can't wait for them to see it!

Today, I spent some time in Yarker at a long time maintenance clients property. I cleaned up some edging, w**ded and cut back some more spent Tulips and Daffodils while dragonflies zoomed over head.

In Tamworth, more planting! This time it was primarily annuals for shade and sun to help round out these perennial gardens. This back shade garden is especially beautiful this year, considering it was nothing but w**ds last year! I also planted up some cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, Oregano, Parsley and Rosemary to finish off the herb and veggie garden. The harvest this year is going to be incredible!

After finishing off with some volunteer gardens I'm home for the day. Or at least until my youngest has baseball later tonight.

Lots of maintenance work over the last few days with some weekly and biweekly clients.

Weeding and planning at my first clients in West Lake. We'd like more colour and fewer bare patches in these lovely mature gardens. Plans are underway so watch for updates!

In Wellington, annuals have been planted with tulips and daffodils cutback to prepare for all the summer blooming flowers. Shrubs were tidied up and fertilized for the upcoming season.

In Amherstview, I removed more Sunchokes that have found their way throughout this garden. Some w**ding and vegetable planting rounded out this quick trip.

In Picton, more bulbs were cut back and Lots of w**ding as the bindw**d attempts to take over these gardens. So many perennials have come back and these gardens are going to be in full bloom soon!

My last stop, also in Picton was all about planting. A cut flower garden was planted here with Zinnia, Cosmos, Dahlias, Gladys and more! Elsewhere, a grapevine was removed and replaced with two pink Clematis.

I have quite a bit more planting to do, including some volunteer gardens, in the next few days so stay tuned!
