This home build has been quite the journey – from the very first sketch to the final finish. One of the most special parts? The kitchen cabinetry, designed from hand-drawn plans by our late and incredibly talented friend, Wes Erhart. His craftsmanship and eye for detail helped shape a space that’s both functional and full of heart.

And our very talented in-house designer, Rhiannon, did a beautiful job creating a living space that is both practical and cozy for a family that needs a sanctuary at the end of their busy days. Another one of our favourite features of this new home is the natural light pouring through the living room and master bedroom windows that brings everything to life – reminding us why we love doing this work.

So proud to see these visions come to life.

We recently had the opportunity to build a carriage house for Anita in Nanaimo. She came to us with a design plan already in hand, and we were able to take her ideas and transform them into a space she can enjoy for years to come. This project wasn’t without its challenges, particularly with access to the rear yard where the carriage house was located. However, through collaboration and ingenuity, we were able to overcome these hurdles and deliver a home that truly reflects Anita’s vision.

🙌 We are very excited (once again) for the opportunity to be working with School District 68 and Summer Break Programs (for Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools), giving kids the chance to find value in themselves by teaching them a new skill - outside of what they learn in school!

👷 Jordan, who is a certified carpenter and who will also be hosting a part of this program, was able to find his passion in woodwork at a young age. As a child, he had the privilege of being able to work with his dad in his woodshop, which gave him the reassurance in knowing that there was a place for him in this world. Creating things with his hands allowed him to find that self-worth, and therefore, he wanted to create a program where he can do the same for our younger generations that his dad did for him.

🏠 So if your child would like to try their hands at building something of their very own (and maybe even discover their self-worth or passion), they're more than welcome to sign up and be a part of our Build a Birdhouse Day Camp!

🔨 In this one-day camp, kids will learn the basics of woodworking, as they create their very own birdhouse from scratch. Our experienced instructors will guide them through each step of the process, using tools to assemble and decorate the finished product.

🐦 Not only will kids learn valuable woodworking skills, but they’ll get to take their birdhouse home to enjoy for years to come. Join us for a day of hands-on learning and fun at our Build a Birdhouse Day Camp!

🗓 Grades 4 - 7 | August 14th and 15th | 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm | Uplands.
