Congratulations to IWCD Senior Project Manager, John, on renewing his Professional Gold Seal Certified (P.GSC) designation through the Canadian Construction Association, for the third time. 🏆️

Only 63 project managers across Canada currently hold this designation. John is one of them, and has maintained it through three full renewal cycles.

At IWCD, John has delivered projects including CR Horizon, Kenworth, and Royal Bay Village Apartments.

The P.GSC puts a credential to what his clients and colleagues have known for years: John is someone you can count on to get it done right.

Summer is heating up on Vancouver Island, and we're in for a hot one. ☀️

At IWCD, safety is year-round- and summer is no exception.
Working outside in high temps takes a real toll on your body, and on your crew. Let's make sure we're looking out for each other.

Here are 5 job-site tips to keep in mind this summer season:

1. Hydrate Regularly: Keep water close and drink before you feel thirsty. Add electrolytes on the long, hot days- your body will thank you.

2. Dress for the Heat: Lightweight, breathable, UV-protective gear and a wide-brim hard hat liner go further than most people expect.

3. Take Shade Breaks: Heat illness moves fast. Step out of the sun before you're already struggling, not after.

4. Watch for Heat Stress: If someone on your crew seems off, dizzy, confused, or nauseous, say something. Get them help.

5. Keep the Site Fire-Safe: Dry conditions mean higher risk. No smoking in high-risk zones, store combustibles properly, and check local fire advisories.

We all have a role to play in protecting each other. When we work smart and put safety first, everyone goes home healthy. Let's have a great (and safe!) summer. 💪

We're proud to share that IWCD has once again been named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, and welcomed back as a Platinum Club member.
The program recognizes Canadian-owned companies for sustained excellence in strategy, capability, commitment, and financial performance.

But for us, it always comes back to the people. Our crews on site. Our office teams in Nanaimo and Victoria. Our trade partners, some of whom we've worked alongside for 40 years. The clients, consultants and developers who keep choosing us to build with them.

That belief has shaped IWCD since the beginning. When Greg Constable started building on Vancouver Island in 1986, there was no grand plan.
Just a belief that if you built well, treated people right, and earned the trust people put in you, the rest would follow.
Four decades later, that's still the heart of IWCD.

The Trust we've built isn't just about the buildings- it's about the values behind them.
A family feel that's never faded. Open door policies in our offices and on site. Decisions made together, not handed down. People who never become numbers, no matter the headcount. And the belief that the communities we build in deserve more than just the buildings we put up. They deserve our time, our care, and our commitment to giving back.

We'll keep building this way for the next 40 years. Building on relationships that outlast the work, on thoughtful decisions made with the people they affect in mind, and on the trust we earn project after project.

After four decades of building on Vancouver Island under Greg Constable's leadership, IWCD is pleased to announce that Patrick Brandreth will be assuming the role of President effective immediately.

Patrick has been an invaluable asset to IWCD over the past eleven years. In his role as Vice-President, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep commitment to advancing the company's growth. IWCD has complete confidence in Patrick’s ability to lead the organization into the future and continue driving its success.

Greg Constable, IWCD's Founder and past President, will transition into an advisory and mentorship role as Founding Chairperson. IWCD is deeply grateful for the 40 years Greg has dedicated to building the company. His extensive industry knowledge, business acumen and vision have provided the foundation in which IWCD continues to build on. As Founding Chairperson, Greg will remain a trusted source of guidance and mentorship as IWCD enters its next chapter.
