Went back to the Lake Echo Farmers Market market and bought hazelnut tree # 2 from Off Beet Farm so my 2 trees can pollinate for years to come. So excited to grow my food forest in my yard ❤️🌱

Are you an AM or PM waterer 💦?

Watering in the Morning (AM)

✅ Benefits
Less water lost to evaporation than during the heat of the day.
Plants have water available before afternoon heat stress.
Leaves dry quickly after sunrise, reducing disease risk.
Encourages stronger root growth.

❌ Drawbacks
Can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule.
Early morning temperatures can be chilly in spring, especially in Nova Scotia.

Watering in the Evening (PM)

✅ Benefits
Cooler temperatures mean less evaporation.
Convenient for many gardeners after work.
Gives dry soil time to absorb moisture overnight.

❌ Drawbacks
Wet leaves and soil overnight can encourage fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and blight.
Slugs and snails thrive in damp nighttime conditions.
Plants remain damp longer, which can attract some pests and diseases.
