Help Wanted: Experienced Carpenter or Carpenter Helper

Lakewood Contracting is seeking an experienced Carpenter or Carpenter Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be reliable, and have experience with construction and carpentry.

Duties Include:
• Building cabins, docks, and decks
• Assisting with lifting and levelling cabins
. Roofing stripping roofs, shingling, and tin 
• Working on cabin additions
• Most work is done on islands, requiring

access via boat

Qualifications:
• Experience in carpentry or construction (experience preferred for Carpenter position)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Must have own transportation to and from job sites
• Strong physical condition and ability to lift heavy materials

Couple docks completed✅

The first dock needed some minor tuning. The high water pulled two of the cribs apart. The crew replaced the damaged 6x6s and then levelled the dock.
The second dock was a Docks and Lifts dock that needed the styrofoam floats replaced. The crew replaced them with plastic floats and redecked the top!

This customer reached out to Lakewood Contracting after the high water busted up this dock/boat house duo. The crew worked hard to tear down the existing structure, dig out and remove the old cribs, rebuild all new cribs, reset the boat house and placed all new decking for the dock. The crew finished up another job recently! This customer wanted their old brick foundation replaced and the cabin lifted. The crew worked with another local business to lift and move the cabin so Lakewood contracting could pour a new foundation and then moved the cabin back. They finished up with installing drainage tile, making pony walls and skirting the cabin.

The crew was busy out at a remote location in Matheson Bay on LOTW. They spent a week out there, lifting and leveling a cabin and a boat house, as well as some landscaping. They dug to bedrock and then new footings were poured so these buildings will no longer heave/shift and will stay level!

Earlier this summer we did some landscaping to cover up bedrock that made it impossible to cut the lawn! We popped out some large rocks, leveled out the land using topsoil and packed it down! After letting it settle, we seeded it.

The before pictures and the after pictures are only 40 days apart! The grass has grown like crazy and will be much easier to mow!
