Jim Ketterling, Director of Contractor Recruitment and Development at J.D. Irving, Limited, Woodlands Division, shared the news with us that on Dec. 14th, harvester operator Mike Mills and forwarder operator Troy Baker have become the first New Brunswickers certified as Forestry Equipment Operators. This new trade certification aims to promote excellence, safety, and sustainability within the industry, and requires a minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience and the successful completion of a 3.5-hour practical assessment covering safety, environmental, tree species and products, mechanical abilities, and demonstration of operating skill. Congratulations Mike and Troy!
