The best investments in a home are the spaces that improve your quality of life and how you reset at the end of the day.

This is one of those upgrades that makes everyday use that much easier.

These window shades give you full control over light and privacy with the touch of a button — especially in areas like this where the window sits across the tub and isn’t easily accessible.

It’s a simple addition, but one that adds both convenience and a clean, finished feel to the space.

The beautiful spa tub in this primary bathroom was one of the more intricate details to work through.

We wanted to achieve a true undermount look using a tub that’s typically designed as a drop-in, eliminating the exposed fl**ge and creating a clean, flat deck.

The challenge then became access. To service the pump and plumbing, we incorporated removable panels along the side, allowing full access while keeping the design seamless.

The entire tub surround and deck were fabricated from the same slab, allowing the veining to travel consistently throughout — tying into the same approach used in the vanity and shower.

It’s one of those details where design and function had to work together to get it right — and it came together beautifully.

Not all home renovations start off with expensive marble and beautiful wood grains.

This was just the start…should we post part 2?

When designing this shower, the goal was to keep the focus on the beauty of the stone while integrating the practical details as seamlessly as possible.

The floating shelf was intentionally positioned so it remains hidden from view when entering the bathroom, keeping the full quartz slab walls as the main visual feature while still providing a convenient place for everyday essentials.

Another detail we incorporated was the seamless stone curb. Fabricated from a single piece and mitred along both sides, it eliminates grout lines where dirt and moisture can collect, creating a clean and durable transition into the shower.

Sometimes the most impactful design choices are the ones that quietly disappear into the space.

One of our favourite details in this vanity — handle-less drawers using touch latch hardware with soft-close operation. A clean look without sacrificing function.

Would you go handle-less in your bathroom?

Everything always works out.

The walls were fabricated from a single piece, but due to the size and weight of the slab, a seam had to be incorporated during installation to safely bring the material through the home. Rather than letting that become a limitation, we intentionally placed the seam through the fixture line so it reads as a design detail and allowing the veins to travel in the same direction.

It’s one of those subtle decisions that helps the entire space feel intentional.

The arch mirrors in this primary bathroom were also custom built in our mill shop to complement the walnut vanity.

To create the curved frames, we fabricated a custom clamping form and laminated multiple strips of walnut together, allowing the arches to take shape while maintaining the natural strength of the wood.

Once the frames were completed, they were hand-finished using in a chocolate brown tone. This oil finish helped preserve the natural beauty of the walnut while adding a durable layer of protection.

The final result keeps the warmth and character of the wood, while balancing the tones throughout the entire space.

Next up: the shower where the large quartz slabs help bring the more of this primary bathroom together!

Part 1: The Custom Vanity

The interior is built from prefinished maple plywood with dovetail drawer construction — built for durability and smooth operation.

The exterior is where it really comes alive with the black walnut that was shiplap joined to create the appearance of one continuous sheet — carefully sliced into six drawer fronts so the grain flows seamlessly across the entire face in a chevron pattern.

The quartz countertop was grain matched and wrapped with a recessed backsplash detail that leaves only a subtle ¼” reveal along the top edge.

Finished with Kohler sinks and Brushed Moderne faucets throughout from Kohler’s Tone series, the result is a vanity that blends craftsmanship, precision, and thoughtful design.

Keep following for Part 2!

Some things don’t go as planned — and that’s okay.

What was meant to be a straightforward overnight chandelier install turned into an unexpected challenge when a few stone pieces arrived damaged. Instead of walking away, we took the time to carefully repair, reassemble, and bring it back together the right way.

The result? A statement piece brought to life exactly as it was meant to be.

Sometimes the most rewarding part of the job is figuring it out.

Behind every beautiful renovation is a lot of content that doesn’t make the final cut 😅
